i hate answering "loaded" questions like this. most of the time people who ask questions like this are just looking for someone to agree with their position, not someone who gives the best answer. that being said, as a red sox fan i was sorry to see bronson go, but he is not a top pitcher in baseball even though he had a nice season last year. i expect him to have continued success in the NL, but he's not even a top 15 pitcher in what i like to call "the real jr circuit".

Bronson Arroyo has only had one really good year. That was last year. I don't even think he is one on the top 20 pitchers in baseball.

He's good, but not one of the best. His above average year last year can be attributed to pitching in the NL, after he spent the majority of his career pitching in the AL. Dont hope for the same results from Arroyo this year.

He is, however, arguably one of the best hitting pitchers in the NL.

Arroyo benefited from being a newcomer to the NL last season. He did have a good year but you can bank on this, he WILL NOT win the Cy Young in 2007, 2008, 2009, etc, etc,...

Johan Santana has shown over time that he is the most consistently great pitcher today. He can start Game 7 for me any day.

He was good during the first half of the last season, but we all saw that he struggled during that second half of the last season as he's pitching record was 14 wins and 11 losses and 3.29 E.R.A, which is O.K. But I wouldn't say he's one of the best pitchers in baseball today.
