I mean, look who they've hired to TRY to replace him: 1) Vernon Wells. Can the man be any more soft-spoken? Does this guy speak with no emotion or what?! 2) Eric Byrnes. Does this guy even own a hairbrush or comb? Can his hair be any messier? His hair is entirely too sloppy and he doesn't even know how to properly wear a tie!

He had one good season last year. Now he can't take that same ball club and take them to the postseason. If he were any good he could've gotten them in.

Okay, we're speaking in hypotheticals here. I keep hearing how the umps 'cheated' for the Yankees by delaying and cancelling the game last night.

This is wrong, and here's why: It was drizzling... and the forecast predicted heavy rain. The umps are of the opinion that there's an hour to an hour and a half of rain coming.

If they start the game... and call a rain delay for an hour after the third inning... then Mussina and Verlander are gone... and both teams have to go into their bulpens.

So who would be hurt more here? The Yanks, by getting only 3 innings from Mussina?

Or the Tigers... who would have their Ace, Justin Verlander for only 3 innings... and then probably not again until game 5?

Correct me if I'm wrong abut this, but if the Yanks win the World Series this year, will Johnny Damon be the first baseball player since Babe Ruth to win a Wrold Series with both the Red Sox and the Yankees?
