If you look at his record, he's actually a very good manager. He brought the Yankees to the brink of the World Series in 95 and then the Diamondbacks in 2000. He's had a very limited payroll and no real big names on his club. Its tough to get a lump of coal and turn it into a diamond. If some one has to go its usually the manager.

This is the best thing the rangers could have done,When the yankees fired him in 95,the following yr we won the world series. Then when the DBACKS fired him in 2000,the following yr
they won the world series,The guy really doesn't have good management skills,The Rangers will do better without him! There are alot of good managers out there.

Its good news if you're a Ranger fan. The last two teams he's been fired by have won the world series the season after he was let go.
I think Texas -has- to make a serious attempt to sign Joe Girardi. He's the biggest name out there right now, because of what he was able to do in Florida.

A good move for the Rangers. They will not get Girardi though. He is going to the Cubs! Since they have a playoff-caliber team, they should get an experienced manager such as Lou Piniella, Dusty Baker, or Bob Brenly.

The Rangers made a mistake.
As for who replaces Showalter I haven't any ideas. Hope fully someone who can take The Rangers over the top.
I am so sick of all those CA teams always winning.
Those CA teams are as bad as those NY teams.

As a Rangers fan, I don't think he should have been fired. I think he should have had anothr year.
As for his replacement, I don't know who it'll be. I hope that they pick up a manager with playoff experience because that is what the team needs.
