Yes, it was raining cats and dogs! But ... I really wish they had played because I can't watch it when it's on tomorrow. Oh well. Go Yankees!!!!

Yes...it was nearly 10 pm before they would have started. That means the game would not have been over with until 2 am, and with a travel day the following day, it was easier to just play at 1pm today, and fly out after the game...
They won't make a team play until 2 or 3 am during the playoffs.

Well, on one hand, I think it's kind of unfair to the Yankees/Tigers because they have worse conditions to play in (rain), whereas other teams don't...so other teams may play better and to their full potential (and they can prob. see the ball better).
BUT, it's not the first time it has rained a lot during a game AND they are getting paid a lot to do it...so I don't think a little rain should totally wipe away their talent. They should be able to stick it out and play the game...

Yes it was raining a lot and there was more coming...at like 11ish there was tons of lightning too...it wouldn't be fair for either pitcher if they had to start then stop again...then at 3 or 4 in the morning go to Detroit...this is the playoffs not a regular season game...

Absolutely!
According to the weather reports, there was a 2nd wave of storms coming through the area.
In a way that sucks for both teams, Mussina & Verlander had both been ready and prepared to pitch. I dont know how that affects certain players, but rain delays usually dont bode well.
I think the right decision was made.

Yes. The game should have been called probably half an hour earlier than it was, it was clear that they would not have been able to get the game in.

no game should be postponed unless there's lightning in the area.
This is what makes baseball a useless sport.

Yes. I'm glad they did that.
