Alright, I've decided that I'm going to get a new bike. I've found that I love biking, and want to get something decent. I bike both on road, and off road (usually on road, but I love off roading) Problem is: money. Being young, I can't afford thousands of dollars worth of gear. What do you think of this plan; would it work?

I buy a nice mountain bike. Drop a couple thousand on a decent mountain bike. Now, I'd also like to get a set of racing slicks (drop another few hundred) that I can easily install in my bike - just swap out the off-roading tires, and throw in the slicks.

I don't know much about bikes, so would this work? Can I get racing slicks with disc brakes (for easier/faster swap out)? I understand I'll need rims + rubber + tube + sprocket, but can it be done? Two completely diff. sets of tires, one frame? Would it be worth it?

Thanks for your input!

Just a follow-up question on the outstanding question posted yesterday. I'm focusing on the Big men now. Imagine if you are a GM owning the first pick of the draft who would you get?
(Assuming all the players are at their prime.)

(I'm doing this because of the lack of quality questions being posted here on the basketball category.)

I could not believe that they picked Juan Pablo Montoya of all people to talk about. I didn't mind Johnny Sauter or Mark Martin but come on!! What do you NASCAR people think? Am I the only one who was surprised by this?

The movie Shane inferred an emotional Triad, and aired around the time Shane was born.

Vince was on the road, announcing Wrestling Meets at the time, even as a story-line it makes sense that the Bastard is Shane, especially knowing Vince.

Let alone separation proceedings announced for story-line and understood from reports. Story-line or real, disowning and disinheriting.

The Papers served would then have been adoption for inheritance, countering disconnection from Will.

First Vince’s cancer scare, Story-line for time-off, then Limo blow’s-up, Story-line for time-off, assumption of time-off needed for Recuperation, Rest or Project’s is understood.

Realistically Vince needs to conclude story-line to delegate authority for getting rest.

Pardon my quizzing the open forum, from far off in left field, or am I maybe right.

In Tony's first season he was a lot better than Troy. I think Tony could be a lot better in a couple seasons. Tony is stronger, smarter and a lot more mobile. As for Young, Romo is like him in the fact they can both run, but Tony is more of a pure passer and has better arm strength

everyone knows that LT should be first, but I dont think there is anyone better than Romo at the 2 position. Romo is on the verge of being the mvp this year, and will slaughter defenses next year. I think Romo would put up around 45tds and might even run for more. Is there anyone that will put up better numbers?

When team x won the cup is way to easy. I have two that stick out in my mind and their both from the same year.

1. 1997- Game one of the Western conference Finals:
The Avs had beaten the Wings in the playoffs the year before and looked like the much superior team in doing it. Game1 was in Colorado and a much different Redwings team showed up to that series. They looked fast, hungry and for the first time, mean. They played with an edge the early 90s wings never had. Even though they lost game 1, Everyone I watched it with noticed the difference. The Wings went on to win the series and eventually sweep Philly for the cup. But I remember watching that game and thinking for the first time that they looked like a team that could win it.

2: 1997 (again)- Steve Yzerman lifting the cup.
Even more than the Wings winning it. I just felt like thank God he got one so everyone can get of his back about it.

Defensively the Giants are among the best teams - their fielding percentage is tied for 4th. Their pitching staff is, at the least, decent. They are 11th in the league in ERA. And they have the 9th lowest total for runs allowed. Based on those two stats you would think they should be close to .500 if not in the wild card race.

The problem is offense. They have the 4th worst team batting average and the 6th worst on base percentage. And they are tied for 3rd for fewest runs scored.

What baffles me is they have at least 3-4 players capable of hitting .300+.

Any thoughts on why they are so bad offensively? Age is obviously a factor, but I can't see that being main reason. Do you think the circus around Barry Bonds kept them from really being able to focus as a team? It's probably not fair to take into consideration what's happening now because the season is a lost cause and they are obviously trying different things for next year.

I'm trying to get an edge over the other linebackers (especially the middle linebackers) and I need some tips for reading both an offensive line and plays in general. I know about if their knuckles are white it's a run while if they are normal it is a pass (or should be). Any former/current football players would be a great help.
