WWE® Shocked At Latest Developments In Benoit Tragedy, Concerned By Sensationalistic Reporting
Written: June 26, 2007
STAMFORD, Conn., June 26, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment is stunned and saddened by the details released by local authorities concerning the double homicide-suicide involving Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.
However, WWE is concerned with the sensationalistic reporting and speculation being undertaken by some members of the media following the press conference held by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney. During the press conference, the investigating authorities made the following points, all of which run contrary to the media speculation that "roid rage" was a factor in the senseless murders and suicide:
1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.
2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.
3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.
4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.
5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.
WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.

Which teams will make the final eight? Are you shocked that Peru disposed of Uruguay by 3 goals to nil especially since Uruguay has so many European based players compared to Peru. And not just anywhere in Europe but teams that are consistantly in Champs league or UEFA cup.

My Predictions
Group A
Peru
Uruguay

Group B
Brazil
Ecuador

Group C
Argentina
Paraguay

Best third place teams
Venezuela (Have to have one long shot in it)
Colombia

I really want to see him make it. I have been following him since High School and he is a great guy in an era of punk athletes.

just wanna to know pples opinion on Jordans 2 seasons with the wizards.I know the expectations were high on him to do what he did with the bulls. But if he was just a normal player in the league with the wizards, how'll you rate his comeback or compared to other players how good was he.I reckon he was still better than 3/4 of the league in my opinion.thks

it is overrated say he is a prodigy of Jerry West. A bonehead manager like him, Laker wouldn't go anywhere but down. He couldn't even stand for himself.

I honestly beleive if Portland picks Oden the 7"1 center they will be making a huge mistake. Durant in the long run will be the better NBA player. He will be a better scorer, just as good a rebounder, and his defense will make about as much of an impact as Odens. And he should have a longer career. These are just my opinions, I would like to hear yours.

My mom was talking to her dentist who apparently owns quite a few guns. He was saying that he heard (never tried) that a deflated balloon placed on the muzzle of a gun, would decrease the noise put out by the round. Has anyone ever heard of this or tried it? I am extremely wary of blocking those gases with anything, and I have no desire to simply try it out and see if it works. I want people's expert knowledge on whether it is a dangerous idea, or simply one that wouldn't work. I am really curious, because it does have the potential to be pretty cool.

If you have more questions, just post 'em and I'll write back in a jiffy.

does running 45-60 minutes 6 days a week build/tone up your leg muscles well? Would taking protein supplements help increase the tone? Approx. how long to see a difference? I know that last question may be a bit tough to answer...ballpark idea??
Not sure if it matters, but I'm 5'4 and 115lbs.
Thanks~

I know we are beating this topic into the ground, but I need to make my peace with this issue. I have been sitting around listening to people "make excuses" for the actions of Chris Benoit based upon steroid use. I just can't take this anymore!

The police are currently "looking into" steroid use as a possibility. It has not been confirmed except by reporters jumpig the gun and fans looking to make excuses.

These heinous acts were NOT the result of steriod abuse! They were calculated, deliberate actions with the intent to MURDER his own family. His wife was tied up and suffocated. His son was smothered SEVERAL hours later in his sleep, and then committed his own demise. The Bibles next to the bodies also does not indicate signs of "roid rage"

I appologize if I offend anyone, but I can't stand people defending Benoit because he was a "great wrestler", I agree with this 100%, now he is just a MURDERER.

STEROIDS DO NOT CAUSE SOMEONE TO KILL THEIR OWN SON! BURN IN HELL!

I have been trying to bump up my distance for running--its about 1/2 a mile. I just can't seem to get any further without my legs giving out and feeling like I'm having a heart attack! Granted I haven't been practicing for very long, and its been years since I've actually tried running, but are some people just not runners? I'm not overweight, and I'm only 24 so I just don't know what my problem is!

I mean it is horribly sad that Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero etc. passed away because they were great human beings, great wresters and great entertainers, but when they were alive ppl used to not really care for them- ppl liked the wrestlers, but they didn't pay attention to them, and now that they are gone ppl just say "I love Him", "He Was The Best", "He Was One Of My Fav." and so on...
And some of them are just hipocrites!! And that pisses me off!

I think ths poem by the late great 2pac says it all:

When Heros falls

when ur hero falls
when ur hero falls from grace
all fairy tales are uncovered
myths exposed & pain magnified
the greates pain discoverd
you taught to be stong
but im confused to see u so week
you said never give up
and it hurts to see u welcome defeat

when ur hero falls, so do the stars
and so does the perception of tomorrow
without my hero, there only
me alone to deal with my sorrow
ur heart ceases to work
and all ur soul isnt happy at all
what r u expected to do
when ur only hero falls?

If you think about it since the beginning the US was put in the easiest group with gutamela, el salvador, and trindad and tobago, then once they entered the eliminations they had a penalty for them in every game including the final, then Canada getting a goal stolen from them, and finally on the final a penalty that was not given to mexico when i believe it was Onewyu throwing himself on Omar Bravo in the are. Opinions please,What do you think?????????
