If you think about it since the beginning the US was put in the easiest group with gutamela, el salvador, and trindad and tobago, then once they entered the eliminations they had a penalty for them in every game including the final, then Canada getting a goal stolen from them, and finally on the final a penalty that was not given to mexico when i believe it was Onewyu throwing himself on Omar Bravo in the are. Opinions please,What do you think?????????

yes, plenty of sore losers do, mainly canadians and mexicans from what I can tell. Just like the argentinians were so sure the germans paid off the refs when germany beat argentina in the world cup (guess the germans ran out of money and couldn't afford to pay the refs off when they played italy...)

UPDATE: The final canadian goal was clearly not offsides, and the ref blew the call. this happens in sports, which is why the teams have to do what it takes to take the matches out of the refs hands. Canada had 93 minutes and various opportunities to score another goal. They didn't capitalize, and they lost. Referee incompetence doesn't = referees being paid off. Pretending it does since that makes whiners feel better does = sore loser mentality.

If you have too much time on your hands, feel free to check my responses to whining americans last summer after the world cup matches with Italy and Ghana. I said the exact same thing. Though the officiating in the Italy match was completely inept, a team that scores one goal in 3 matches has no one to blame but themselves that they wind up winless.

The tournament was set up for the US and Mexico to reach the final, there is no secret. The world cup does this as well, it is set up so the champion and the host nation can not meet until the final. This is just how it works, remember this is a business.

Now to say that the USA bought it is absurd. They won, people should just deal with it, I have. You can't win them all, sometimes you play your best and just can't win. Mexico lost because they couldn't hold the lead and got desperate trying to tie, the same story as always. When Mexico gets a better coach and replaces those dinosaurs in front like Borgetti, Blanco and find better forwards that actually know how to score (O. Bravo) then they will win it without controversy.

Mexicanos, don't worry. Next year we will have new talent coming into the national team. Just wait and we'll have Vela, Gio and Castillo with Guardado and Medina up front. Think of the speed.

There is still no explanation to why the goal from Canada was taken away. Very intresting indeed. Obviously not an offsides and usually an explanation from FIFA would follow. I am sure FIFA is reviewing it and shaking their heads in disbelief.

I wouldnt call it being paid off. But I would call it bad refs.

I just laugh because it was the Americans crying foul in World Cup 2002 when they lost to Germany because a "handball" in the box.

The facts.
Canada should have tied 2-2
and that was a bad call against Mexico. It was a dive and a bad one at that.

But it happens and it will happen again. The same people crying sore losers now will cry when the U.S. gets beat by a "Hand Ball"

Professor, try playing a real sport like Rugby. Not fussball where you need Kevlar Vest to play. American Football, what a weak sport. Baseball? Well, you can have that sport. Have fun watching Guerrero, Sosa, Soriano, Cabrera.....

Yes because Mexico was placed in that group of death with those powerhouses Cuba, Panama and Honduras. Teams you should dance around multiple times. Second please explain to the Costa Rica game also. The USA did not pay off the refs or at least not as much as Mexico did. To me the Bravo thing was rather questionable, I think he probably did get fouled, but Bravo's penchant for diving probably hurt him in that case. Concacaf has some terrible officials and need to work on it in my opinion.

Oh yes, it is a very complicated conspiracy theory. The plan was laid down by Kissinger in the 70s. The idea is to gain the respect of soccer crazy Latin Americans by proving that the US knows how to play, thus damaging Castro's and Chavez's influence in the hemisphere. The bribes are given to corrupt referees and FIFA officials by men dressed in black known as "Soccer MIBs". Referees that do not agree are arrested by special forces and sent to Guantanamo. I am risking my life by writing this...

But seriously: The answer is no, the USA has been getter better at soccer at a steady pace since the early 90s. Stop trying to look for excuses and admit they are getting better.

"I promise you I'm serious: The Gold what? Onewyu and Omar Bravo who?"

The gold cup drew 47% higher TV ratings in the US than the NHL stanley cup finals. Maybe you should go troll in the hockey section.

i think of that there grow to be some awareness agreed to till now between america of a officers and the refs, which required the refs to make calls interior america of a’s group prefer, in the event that they chanced on themselves in a niche of worry. I have no particular data to back up my allegation, yet via gazing the final 3 video games, my suspicions seems to be nicely based. yet nonetheless, years from now america of a set would be remembered for prevailing & not how they gained the 2007 Copa Oro – so congrats to them

Sure you can say all these things about the US team, but really i think the team has been phenominal if you take those things away, they have a very young team, a new coach, and new players. You could say the same thing about the friendly between mexico and US a while ago, mexico was getting all the calls. Plus it is homefield.

Of Course, The Canada game itself is enough reasons to believe it, the USA team isn very good IMO and Beasley's easy miss in the Mexico game proves it. You USA fans are just plain stupid to believe that the Canadian Goal in the last minute was offside, USA arent real winners and this is coming from a non-canada fan.

2007 Gold Cup...going once, going twice ...Sold! to the US team!!!!!!!!

Are you serious? Either you are Mexican fan or you need to take your medication.

If you want to talk about soft teams. Look who Mexico played in the semi-final...Guadalupe? I didn't even know they had a soccer team.

Quit your whinning. Back to back GOLD CUP titles for the US. Preparing for the trifecta.
