does running 45-60 minutes 6 days a week build/tone up your leg muscles well? Would taking protein supplements help increase the tone? Approx. how long to see a difference? I know that last question may be a bit tough to answer...ballpark idea??
Not sure if it matters, but I'm 5'4 and 115lbs.
Thanks~

it all depends on how hard you run during those 45-60 minutes. if you run hard at least 5 days a week, then yes, it will help to tone your leg muscles. you just need to make sure you push yourself hard some days, and some days just go for a nice long run for some endurance. i really dont think you need protein supplements, just make sure you eat healthily and definately cut back on the soda. you will see a gradual difference even just after 2 weeks or so in how hard/long you are able to run. after a month or two you will see a bigger difference in the muscles in your legs. but, like you asked for, thats just a ballpark figure from personal experience. give it time, but it doesn't take too too long. have fun running!

They do make your legs stronger, but not as much as weight training will.
However, your legs will tend to look more toned because you'll have less fat covering up your muscles.
If you start out with little to no running, running that much will produce results pretty quickly, like 2 weeks.
To see any major results if you're already a regular runner, you'll have to up your training because your body is used to what you're doing.

YES.
NO.
Don't know. Depends on the indiviudal's own body makeup and dedication.
Good height & weight.

You will be amazed at how quickly you will develop a much slimmer silhouette. Don't pick on yourself and be disappointed when you don't see rapid change. Relax, running should be a journey, not a destination.

Good Luck
