I honestly beleive if Portland picks Oden the 7"1 center they will be making a huge mistake. Durant in the long run will be the better NBA player. He will be a better scorer, just as good a rebounder, and his defense will make about as much of an impact as Odens. And he should have a longer career. These are just my opinions, I would like to hear yours.

Oden will average near a double double or a double double. You would pick Oden if you need a strong center that can dominate. People can be like, oh he's not going to be able to match up with people like Shaq or Yao, but the thing he has is quickness. Expect him to average around 19 or 20 points in his rookie year. He's a dominant big man that will score in the paint and put up big numbers whether his teamates Randolph and Roy puts up the numbers they put up this year or more. But there is a backlash, Oden has a bone in his neck that is abnormally large. That might be a problem in the future or it might be something that won't change anything. Hopefully, he'll just be himself.

Durant on the other hand, is the person you would take if you want him to take over the game offensively. I'm not so sure Seatle would be the best place for him because he will be shadowing Ray Allen. But I doubt that would change Seatle's thought of drafting him if Oden went first. Durant can shoot the 3 ball and he can block, defend, and pretty much everything. Heck, he might even average around 10 rebounds a game if you give him enough time. He will get his assist because Seatle isn't a team where they can't shoot. Expect him to average around 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assist with 1 and a half blocks. But one thing people do not realize is that he's not as athletic as people think he is. That was said by the scouts who watched him work out and everything.

My final decision would be drafting durant because he is one of those players that can score from everywhere on the court, and also because he has a longer range and he can too dominate the paint.

I know for a fact that Kevin Durant will be a better NBA player the Greg Oden, simply because Durant is way more athletic. Sure, Oden was dunking on everyone in college, but try to tell me, how many 7 footers do you find in college that are at least decent players? Oden had size, even though he still has size in the NBA, there's no way he can do that on Shaq, Yao Ming, Dwight Howard, and even Ben Wallace. Kevin Durant on the other hand is way more explosive. He plays small forward, and he like 6'10! He has size advantage in the NCAA and the NBA too. Durant can shoot from of 25 feet, he is a monster dunker, he is very athletic, and simply a better player. I'm not sure if the Seattle Supersonics are the best team for Durant because they already have enough shooters, they need more postmen. But, if he does go to Seattle, which he most likely will, he'll still have a better rookie season and career than Oden will have. If Oden does win Rookie of the Year, it's only because of the support he has. He has Roy and Randolph. Durant has no postman. Durant will be a way better choice for the Portland Trail Blazers. The decision is up to them.

Oden. For sure. Durant is more like a T-Mac or Kobe Bryant type. Yea he can score, he'll prolly drop 30 a night if he gets the chance. Oden on the other hand is the next dominant big man in the league. His defense will keep people out of the paint. Haven't you noticed that defense wins championships? Durant can defend somewhat, but he lacks muscle so he would get tossed around.

I guess it really depends on which Team needs.

If your team requires a solid post scorer and rebounder, Greg Oden is the man.

However, if your team requires a big man whom can stretch the defense and can score from the post or the perimeter then Durant is the man even though he's not a better scorer than Oden.

If Blazers decided to keep Zach Randolph then I think Kevin Durant is the obvious choice since Z-Bo is a low post scorer at best.

I think Kevin Durant will be be the better player early, but after about 2 or 3 years, Greg Oden will be more of an impact player who will affect both ends of the court. His defense will make his team a playoff team every year.

Durant if the flashier player but if you're looking to win titles, you have to go with Oden.

Its like choosing between the Suns & the Spurs. Phoenix is very entertaining & fun to watch but at the end of the day, its the Spurs who are holding the trophy.

Historically speaking, its easier to build an NBA Champion team around a dominant big man (Mikan, Wilt, Russel, Walton, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan) rather than a perimeter player (Jordan was the exception).

Unless Durant turns out to be a Jordan, you can never go wrong w/ picking Oden.

Take this from a person that has lived most of his life in Portland. We need a center ever since Sabonis left. Oden would be a better fit for the ever rebounding Blazers. After all we already have a few good shooters in Zach Randolph and Brandon Roy. Portland has and probably will always need a good center.

both will be fantastic but i think oden will be the better pro. durant will score more than oden, but not by that much. i can see oden averaging 20-22 ppg while i see durant going for 25-28ppg. durant wont be as good a rebounder as oden. remember oden is considered more athletic than durant based on test results, oden is 7 ft and will be a tremendous rebounder in the nba much better than kevin. and durants defense is not as good as odens. oden can change shots by standing there, durant cant. thats what sets apart oden and durant for me. oden will have the better defense based on height and athleticism. durant wont block shots like oden will.
