I know we are beating this topic into the ground, but I need to make my peace with this issue. I have been sitting around listening to people "make excuses" for the actions of Chris Benoit based upon steroid use. I just can't take this anymore!
The police are currently "looking into" steroid use as a possibility. It has not been confirmed except by reporters jumpig the gun and fans looking to make excuses.
These heinous acts were NOT the result of steriod abuse! They were calculated, deliberate actions with the intent to MURDER his own family. His wife was tied up and suffocated. His son was smothered SEVERAL hours later in his sleep, and then committed his own demise. The Bibles next to the bodies also does not indicate signs of "roid rage"
I appologize if I offend anyone, but I can't stand people defending Benoit because he was a "great wrestler", I agree with this 100%, now he is just a MURDERER.
STEROIDS DO NOT CAUSE SOMEONE TO KILL THEIR OWN SON! BURN IN HELL!

Please know that I am not condoning steroid use whatsoever. I feel that it is wrong and I do understand the effects of it. what I AM saying is that people should not pass this off as an excuse.
If you want me to, I could rattle off a ton of negative effects of steroids, including rage. What I am saying is that these actions were cold and calculated....not spontanious.
Steroids can make you angry, but if you take it so far as to kill your family....you have to have that desire to HURT your family in the first place.

I absolutely agree.
They could find VIDEO of him killing them and some here won't believe it and say it was doctored or still say, "Yeah, but I respect him as a wrestler."
Pathetic

no one is defending what has happened.....they are just saying he was a great wrestler and will be missed in the ring. people are still in shock over this. it's hard to believe that someone you watched on a weekly basis would do this. you would feel the same if it were someone you enjoyed watching. Right now the tox reports have not come back...they are being processed. Back in April WWE did a test and Benoit came back clean. No one REALLY knows what happened but Benoit, his wife and his son and GOD. people need to stop beating this into the ground and find something new to talk about.

It's perfectly okay to vent. It's sweet to know you care so much- especially about people you don't know. There is never a reason to kill a person, especially a child. At least he was asleep- I think I more so am hoping he was. Not that there is really any silver lining to be found in this... I agree that it was calculated murder towards his wife, but I wonder if he felt terrible for putting his son through that and wanted to put him out of his misery. Once again I am not standing up for him or anything he did, just trying to figure out why he did it like many others. Kudos to you...

I walked up the street to buy some pop, and that was the response I got from a stranger who watched wrestling..
His KID.. Glad to know there are men out there..
It's a sick thing to kill a child. More so when you know the person doing it can over power the victim.
The man had some serious issues, I am sure there is a lot more that will come out..
It's a tragedy

I can't understand anyone defending a man who killed his child and wife, and then took his own life.
I agree with you 100% that this was pre-thought out and calculated.
I don't understand people feeling the need to try and defend and condone celebrities commiting crimes of any sort.
They are human just like you and I, and are fully responsible for their own actions. Especially something as horrible and sicking as this.

Great wrestler or not, he certainly is a murderer as well as a coward for killing himself. Steroids can certainly cause in increase in rage, but they cannot be the only thing to blame for him acting this way. It still takes an extreemly disturbed human being to do what he did.

well...actually Steroids can cause you to become crazy, if you check all the effects that anabolic steroids cause you'll be amazed. I am in no way making excuses for what he did, is just horrific and there is no understanding on why he commited this crimes. Please, there are a lot of kids here who if they see your analisis will assume that it is ok to take steroids...IT'S NOT!!!, they can change someone really quiet and normal into someone full of rage and violent. This is not an excuse ....it is a fact!!!
This is a really tragic story, and there is no excuse for it, since it is his OWN desicion on taking that crap.

yea it can i saw on the news that that could have been the reason because it does something to the testosterone in your body and it can make you depressed and get all this angry built up and go all crazy. they said its called roid rage they said it on the news so I believe them. so steroids probably was the cause because he was so nice and such a great man and all so why else would he do that.

I agree that he is one of the best wrestlers today but this seems to me like it was planned. No way was this roid rage. Sad to see him go down like that though. How can you ever justify killing your own child.
