Do they serve Him and sing to Him because they want to?

If they don't want to and would rather be doing their own thing there fulfilling their own personal desires, do you think they'll be cast down to Hell?

If that's true, then Heaven is worse than being here because at least here on Earth, you don't have God "breathing down your neck" ready to cast you out the second you'd rather do your own instead of what he wants you to do. I don't like this. When I die someday and am there, it looks like I'll have to tell God to get off my back and let me do what I like.

I just read in January 2008 Decision Magazine (web site: decisionmag.org ), "We may know the religious songs. We may even say prayers. But if we haven't been to the foot of the cross, we haven't been born again.".
& All unrighteousness is sin (1Jn5:17) & yet before we can get to heaven, we must have righteousness. God says, "Be perfect as I am perfect, holy as I am holy." (Mt5:48&1Ptr1:16).

So, our self righteousness is like filthy rags. But when we are clothed in Christ righteousness (at the foot of the cross) we are made the righteousness of Christ. Even when Jesus said "It is finished!" on the cross (veil rent). The OT Saints &the thief on the cross raised up (as ghosts) & they ascended to the 3rd heaven. Because the atonement was made. (They didn't need 'baptism by proxy' because Jesus was baptized for them when He was baptized by John.) (Mt.27:50-54)

Mormons think that those not baptized into their Church need 'baptism by proxy' or 'baptism for the dead' to be saved.

Perfection is an ideal. It is like absolute zero. It does not exist.

So many catholic apologetics sites I've seen seem so frustrated with having to repeat the line that praying to Mary IS NOT worshipping her, that catholics do NOT worship statues, and other things - catholic.com makes these points as plain as day on their site, so why do fundamentalists continue to believe them? Why is intercessory prayer so offensive to them?

For example I have seen "The Atheist" as if atheist is a person. I have seen talk of science acting like a person. And evolution saving people. I've seen questions directed at Islam. What is up with this? Is it belief in their god that causes them to personify other non-sentient things??

Heaven is not related to religion, it is related to humanity. It may very well exists and we can imagine and experience it by visualizing a world with following qualities :
Everyone is happy and tries to help each other in the way he can with honesty. No body hates any one but loves imensly and tries to give happiness to other- this means we don't need any money system. People who are good in irrigation does the irrigation and provides all of us food. People who are good in technology does research to help improve the irrigation and produce scientific gadget for everyone. People who are good in entertainment entertains us and so on. We all do hard work mentally, physically and ethically because it is good for our physic, health, longivity, happiness. No ego at all. If we are honest and we think I can not study then I should do other hard work to provide food and shelter for others. If somebody is good in study he does it and helps us using his knowledge and technology in serving us.

How is it that we lose our salvation? If nothing can seperate us from Jesus, how can we become "lost"?
How can we preach to others of the love of God, if, at any moment we might lose our eternal salvation? Once I've placed my faith in God and seek to do His will in my life, why would He turn His back on me?
Nonbelievers would call that a hateful God, one not to be trusted or served.
True, Paul tells us to "work" out our salvation with fear and trembling, but who wouldn't be afraid (or filled with awe) in the face of Almighty God? Didn't Jesus die so that we could live in hope of eternal grace?
Believe me, if I had to live in fear of losing my salvation, I would find it very hard to believe in the love of God. Giving someone the gift of eternal life, then snatching it away from them? I don't think so.
Are there "Christians" who aren't saved? I think so. I believe I've met a few of them.
Does it take perfection to be saved? Who then, will be saved?

The asker wanted to know if anyone truly believed that Gandhi was hell-bound.

Given some of those answers saying he will, in fact, go to "hell" - has your opinion of Christianity, its beliefs, and its believers changed at all? Negative change? Positive change?

What do you think of religion's hold on humanity given some of those answers?

Are you at all saddened by the answers proclaiming that Gandhi, a man who dedicated his life to doing good for humanity, will go to hell rather than those who simply "accept Jesus"???

It is absolute according to biblical teachings that abortion and divorse is not supported by the church of God no matter what denomination one claims. A protestant practicing lady told me once that the prodestant church doesn't and needs to stress the issues of divorse and abortion more. Catholics really make it a point to be completely against divorse and abortion. (not saying all catholics practice it perfectly).

Why don't Prodestants stress on those issues more?
Do you think they should?

Isis jumped off and rested at a corner of the living room. Now my eyes were getting heavy and slowly they closed. Everything went black for a moment until I found myself in a small empty room. Master stood beside me and there was a bearded man sitting in a corner shivering. He wore torn up clothing and some of his yellow teeth were missing.

"What do you want from me," he said. "I’ll give you anything you want just let me go."

"You idiot.” said Master. “I do not want anything from you. Now, I need someone for Lily's lesson.”

"Lesson?" said the old man. "What is this ‘lesson’ are you teaching her?”

Master chuckled. "Lily, what is the most vulnerable organ in
the body?"

"The heart, Master"

"What happens to the victim when the heart is damaged?"

“He dies." I whispered.

"Good. Now I want you to ki-"

"You are sick" said the old man, "Is this why you
raised her? To create an assassin out of her? What kind of man would
teach a six year old to kill?"

"Children are so easy." said Master. "They make better servants, when raised at such a young age. My Lily is a perfect example

Master kneeled to my side. "Lily," He whispered. "Do you love Master?"

"I do," I whispered back.

"Do you want to make Master happy?"

"I do."

"Then kill that old man in front of you. Make me
happy."

Master handed me a dagger and I walked forward. The man smiled.

“Jesus loves you” he said, “ That man you serve is none other than the dark prince himself, Satan.”
