If hope is followed by diligent action to make possible for things, events to take place, then the probabilities are enhanced although not guaranteed.

If I help a fervent believer in any way, chances are they will attribute the good deed to some answered prayer and not to my goodwill since they believe that all unbelievers are wicked by default.

Anything which does not require direct proof or that can readily be explained can be assigned an unseen cause ad infinitum.

You hear a lot of Pentecostals talking about the power of God raising the dead here and there without any proof whatsoever.

The list of such accounts has no end given those qualifiers.

By the same token there are many more substantiated proofs of fortunate windfalls that came about without any praying at all.

No...because prayer doesn't work.

Atheists recover from accidents, find money, get hired, get lucky, win lotteries, all that good stuff, and it happens to them, and they don't pray. How could that be possible, if prayer is what is required? And if prayer did work, what happens when 3,000 people all pray to win the lottery? You would think they'd all win, wouldn't you? What about the people who pray and die anyway, or whose loved ones die anyway? Did they not do it right, or is it time for the "mysterious ways" cop-out?

Prayer is just a fervent wish, nothing more.

Yes. Many times. My sister prayed for me for 10 years, and her prayers were answered. I prayed for my husband (you don't need to know the details) and there was an immediate and powerful answer. Trouble is, most people think prayer is something they should do to get help, when nothing else seems to be working.

Here's what God has to say about prayer: First of all, if you're a Christian, you can call me Father, because we are now in a relationship. I live in heaven. You don't . But there is communication. My name is Holy. Don't diss me on this (as in disrespect). I expect you to pray for MY will to be done, not yours. And that's the point where most people give up.

Y'see, they want THEIR will to be done, not God's.

As long as your prayer is in harmony with God's will, it will be answered. Sometimes, the answer is a resounding "No!" for our own good, as it turns out with hindsight.

Prayer, to God Almighty, done in reverence, in holy fear and in true supplication ALWAYS works. We just have to dump our egos in the process. Ah, not so easy, then?

Edit: Sweetheart, never give up. God will never give up on you. Blessings and love to you.

If you pray from the heart then alomst certainly it will be heard.

It does not necessarily mean that you will get what you want. I believe if you ask with sincerity then a response by way of giving you what you want or not giving you anything is still a success. God may just be giving you something better!

Remember everything happens for a reason and that reason may not always be known to you. Trust in God always!

Take care.

Oh yes, in fact I can not live without it. I get so depressed when I do not perform it.
I am refering to the muslim prayer when you bow down to God, I feel immense relief from stress and anxiety and feel so fresh too.
During which I can pray to God and tell him whatever I want....

prayer is a fantastic way to talk to god you do not have to pray to a memorized prayer you can talk to god anywhere and anytime.yes a prayer has worked for me when i went to a camp i had lost something that was given to me by my pastor and i found it.at first i really didn't think that a prayer could be heard but if you put you trust in god and believe that god rose Jesus from the dead you will live for eternity in jesus's arms.god does not like it when you hide is word from others he likes it when you share it with others.i hope that anyone who reads what i wrote that they will start sharing the word of god and how he died on the cross to save us from our sin.some people might pray for the things they want other than the things they need.i hope that all of you have jesus in your heart and you have chosen god to be your only god and to worship him every day.

That is a hard question to answer honestly, there were times when I have, been in danger, and I have said," I hope to god that I get out of this", I do not know truthfully if you could say that it worked for me.
Or it was other events materialising, that brought me out of the danger area,?

Yes, in that I prayed to the LORD God, and that I believe that my prayers are answered, although not as I expected them to be.
