I am in constant communication with my spiritual mentor and will certainly add your request, and the fact that you made it. By the way, someone said that prayer does not make any difference. I must agree! If you don't pray, it doesn't make any difference. If you do, it makes all the difference in the world, but one never finds this out until they take that baby step in faith. Part of prayer is having the maturity to understand that what we ant is not always the best for what we pray for. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, and sometimes wait! Sometimes we seem to get no answer at all, but sometimes we are only listening for the answer that we want. Learning to pray is like learning to walk. It isn't easy, and it has to be practiced constantly. After awhile though, you can't even remember not doing it, and that is when it is the most effective. If you learn to pray, you give up loneliness. You always have someone to talk to and you recognize the fact that you are never really alone. Consider all souls in India prayed for, and we might include the troubled souls that are agonizing over the death of their martyred leader in Pakistan as well?

Yes, Debra, I will pray for the Christians and Hindus in India. Have been following this story on the news. I lived in Nepal for three years. While there, I worked in a missionary children's hospital. Have spent time in India. I am shocked and saddened by this violence. From my experience, Hindu people are loving, generous and kind. I never cease to be bewildered by the heinous acts done in the name of "God".

I have been praying for all the people of the sub Continent of South Asia.
India is a place with many diverse religions and Hinduism itself is very ancient, diverse and inclusive.
India needs to stick to a secular but not secularist government that helps all the citizens of India practice their beliefs of informed conscience
Christians have done much for all Indians from hospital care to education to advocacy for the poor.
Christianity has been in India for 2000years or so
The situation in Pakistan for religious minorities is so much worse.
Quick recourse to violence is contrary to Hindu Ahimsa ethics and to Christian ethics as well.
Extreme Hindutva nationalists, historical revisionists and "Aryan supremacists' have been fanning the flames with calls for things like state suppression of non Hindu groups as alien to India.
Let us all pray and work for harmony and cooperation among all peoples of all cultures and belief systems.

I will not pray specifically for Christians in India...
My prayers are for Humanity (including people caught in the cross-fire of these ridiculous Jihads and Holy-wars).

May dear Debra, you have a very good and soft heart, may God bless you. But, I don't want sound like rude heartless person. You see, all these people, Cristian and Hindus,( if the news are truth, some times i doubt about this news) are in ignorance, why fight? Long time ago Hindus and Muslim lived in peace together, why they can't do that now? they are just foolish fanatics, they are envious one another.

What if my faith doesn't include prayer? Its like saying do whatever you want to do as long as you do it my way.
I have compassion for all suffering people. It is religous zeal that is creating these tensions so maybe we should find a more secular way to spread our compassion.

Prayer doesn't do anything at all.
Yes my sympathies go to these people and all people suffering unnecessarily. This story you link to is just another example of what is wrong with religion.
If I were to pray it would be for these people, and all people, to see the frivolity of following these man-made religions, and to pray for their liberation from the shackles of superstition.
