From YA help:
Are questions deleted after they are resolved?

Resolved questions are never deleted. Once a question becomes a Resolved Question, it stays in Yahoo! Answers, available for searching and browsing. You can continue to share what you know by evaluating the Best Answer.

So why are they deleting resolved questions?

1. Strong theist.100% probability of God. In the words of C. G. Jung, "I do not believe, I know."

2. Very high probability but short of 100%. De facto theist. "I cannot know for certain, but I strongly believe in God and live my life on the assumption that he is there."

3. Higher than 50% but not very high. Technically agnostic but leaning towards theism. "I am very uncertain, but I am inclined to believe in God."

4. Exactly 50%. Completely impartial agnostic. "God's existence and non existence are exactly equiprobable."

5. Lower that 50% but not very low. Technically agnostic but leaning towards atheism. "I don't know whether God exists but I'm inclined to be sceptical."

6. Very low probability, but short of zero. De facto atheist. "I cannot know for certain but I think God is very improbable, and I live my life on the assumption that he is not there."

7. Strong atheist. "I know there is no God, with the same conviction Jung "knows" there is one."

I am a Hindu and I take pride in my religion. Although I never really looked into it with depth I follow what my parents have taught me. I am beginning to have doubts about my religion.... everyone has their own idea of what Hinduism really is, especially on Yahoo! Answers... that is what i see. Some people think of Hindus as people who basically worship everything they see. Some people think of Hindus as people who just do yoga. Some people think that Hindus worship 330 million gods while other disagree and say that they only worship one. Some people (with mental issues) think that Hindus gods are perverts...

I'm sorry but I'd have to say that with this confusion, 50 years or so from now... the beliefs of Hinduism will not be as popular or as successful as they are failing to be right now.

I believe that if you want to believe in a religion, you have to be clear in what you believe in.

Don't you agree?

All opinions are welcome.

Was it just me, or was Merlin's hut in Shrek 3 covered in Druid symbols? I saw at least one Triskele on the wall. This raises another question...

If you all remember the religious hype the zealots threw up about the Golden Compass movie. Disney is using Pagan symbols in their movies, why aren't they protesting that? Children might get curious about those symbols and go researching them, and who knows... They might even decide to become Druids. Then again, nothing wrong with that, is there?

Please, I would like your answers to be very very elaborate with authentic examples of the causes of the declinations of catholic faith in europe and america. If possible mention the names of those(either popes, priests, etc.) who are directly involved in the bad acts that are now causing the declination of faith in these two continents. And I would also like that you suggest some ways out of the situation because with the look of things,if care is not properly taken and taken rapidly, the issue of catholic faith in europe and america will soon be a story of the past.

So I'm having problems with one of my good friends. She's a really fun girl; she's really fun to be with and all. But, lately she's been extremely demanding of me, and basically she doesn’t treat me the way I want to be treated nor the way she would want to treated herself. So, this drives alot of anger within me, mostly like right after we hang out for some time. We even work together at the same job so I get angry as well. I really don’t' know what to do about this situation, but something has to be done because it's driving me coocoo. Anyways, I decided I'd look into the Chapter of Matthew for answers and I fell upon a passage that was titled, "Anger". So thinking this passage could really help me out, I honestly read it and still am not sure what it means. It's just confusing to me for some reason. So I guess I was wondering if someone would be able to explain the chapter of Matthew 5:21 and the entire passage of "Anger". It would be awesome if someone can help me out with this one

I am a christian. I believe in God and Jesus. Am I less of a person to you because of my beliefs? Give me your opinions on being friends or in a relationship with religious people. Does being religious affect your opinion of the person?

I know this has been asked a million times before, but people keep telling me that their deity (whichever deity they choose to worship) really does exist...not like all those "other" deities.

So, anything other than "look around you"?

...think that all Atheists are really searching for God and seeking his answers? If we were still looking for our own personal truth we would claim Agnosticsm. Stating ourselves as Atheists means we have come to our conclusion. Is it that upsetting to grasp the concept of Atheists being happy and content just being Atheists or will those of you continue to believe that we are lost souls searching ?

When Adam chose the fruit from the tree of knowledge over the tree of life he made a choice. He determined to accept death over an eternal life of uselessness. He knew there was no pleasure in a uselessness eternity which would be purposeless. Life is only worth having when it serves a purpose. He knew eternal life would serve no purpose whatsoever. But God wasn't giving up on you. He sent you Jesus determined to destroy all purpose by giving you eternal life. Aren't you religious people getting yourself into something you know absolutely nothing about which could be worse than Hell. And you wont be able to get yourself out? God knows what purposelessness is.

Yesterday I asked two questions...one concerned evolution in school, and involved teachers who tell their kids that God doesn't exist, or is an outdated concept. From the answers I got, it became quite clear that, of course, atheist parents aren't being told about this by their kids, but Christian parents are...
Anyhow, it seems that someone took offense, and Y!A deleted it...
The other question asked whether there have ever been any discoveries that might tend to support atheism...you know, like maybe some ancient civilization that didn't have any form of worship, or something. Predictably, I was told that it is not possible to prove a negative (I wish someone would tell my bank that!) and that the burden of proof is on the people who claim that there is a God...
So, now I have to ask...is Y!A showing preferential treatment to atheists??
