...think that all Atheists are really searching for God and seeking his answers? If we were still looking for our own personal truth we would claim Agnosticsm. Stating ourselves as Atheists means we have come to our conclusion. Is it that upsetting to grasp the concept of Atheists being happy and content just being Atheists or will those of you continue to believe that we are lost souls searching ?

I think ( and this is just a guess) that SOME Christians feel that way because they cannot imagine not having the Lord or having some kind of afterlife. I know I can't; its hard for me to grasp the Atheists ways of thinking.

Some of them believe it because they have been told that all people are made by their god and there is a special place in the heart of all people that yearns for their god. (The Pope made a faux pas with this recently when referring to the violent conversion of the American Indians.)

And they will never respect other people enough to allow them their own emotions and opinions. They are convinced they are right, and will not listen to any proof to the opposite.

Fortunately, they are a small, though rabid, group. Most of the Christians I know are willing to allow me to determine my own emotions, without telling me how I feel.

I'm not sure what anyone else thinks, I do believe that the choice to be an Atheist, or ( any belief ) needs to be available to all, for there to be true freedom

Other pastors say everyone is a child of God and some people dont believe Jesus is their savior.

They have to make themselves feel better about not being able to win an argument with you somehow. That's why they say silly stuff like that.
