I am only asking because I have seen many questions in ergards to certain groups getting violation notices/suspensions.

I'm wondering about that too; just got my first violation for an answer that was "my opinion" and that was chosen by the asker as the best answer - and she wrote the sweetest thank you to me. So, I guess I don't know what the criteria is. Especially in the R&S section, where bashing goes on with such regularity, an answer that stated only what I "thought" about the question was a violation. ????!!

No, I don't. I'm an atheist, and have gotten very few violation notices and no suspensions at all, however many other atheists on here get numerous violation notices and suspensions.

The only time I get violation notices is during the Six Nations and FIFA.

It seems that one country, which shall remain nameless here, has a number of button-happy sports supporters who are very fond of gloating.

Even more so than the religious types of a certain persuasion which shall also remain nameless.

There was one violation notice I probably deserved, but some of my questions and answers that were deleted for violations weren't violations at all. I suspect I was the target of a troll (or two) on those.

I don't think so. When you report something, it doesn't just go to one person. That would be way too many reports for one person to handle in time. So the reports go to different people of different religions. Yahoo! Answers has to be fair, they're worried about pissing people off. Although once I answered a question about inflation. I said that the problem about inflation was that we would need more money, and since money was made of paper trees would have to be killed. It got reported and deleted. It was incorrect, but it didn't have to be deleted. Obviously I didn't quit Yahoo! Answers over that, so they can delete unfairly as long as it's not that big of a deal. But giving people of a certain religion a violation would be something I (and most people) would quit Yahoo! Answers over. It would be hard to get away with that.

Nope. Usually when i get a violation notice, it is because I was being an asshole and deserved it. I get the feeling that is the case with pretty much every violation notice handed out.

it is fairly clear that y!a operates a semi-automatic policy of deleting any post which receives multiple reports.

if you criticise muslims they jump on you (especially if your criticism goes home), and the same is true for catholics and creationists. other groups are probably a little less well-organised.

when i deleted all my fans and made my questions and answers private the number of deletions i got fell dramatically.

but i would rather cope with the violations - the thought of someone being hurt by a truth they cannot bear is worth the annoyance of seeing my comment spitebombed out.

Yes, anytime I say anything against the Muslims, and all is truth, I am given a violation.

I get violation notices everyday.

Yes, because my deleted answer was strictly in support of Christianity to a question putting down Christianity.
