Personally, I would have to witness said deity using supernatural powers. Something would have to happen that absolutely could not be explained through natural forces. For obvious reasons, including the lack of such occurrences, I don't believe in deities.
I would hope others would require equal proof for such a life altering belief.

It is a purely subjective experience, so it can't be proven objectively. It is also a subjective experience which some people have but don't associate with a deity or religion. Some say "God is Love," so if you've experienced love in any form (as a child, as a parent, as a pet owner, as a sibling, as a spouse) they would say you've experienced God. But it can also be said that love is a human emotion, common to us all and doesn't prove the existence of anything other than itself.

Here is my standard answer to this question (I also like to look at DNA, but I'm going with this one)
Athiesm/evolution is not logical, rational or even possible. . . it can be proved from the information we have that there is a God. . . its called heat death. The universe is winding down to a slow heat death, which means in the past it must have beein more and mopre and more and more and more wound up, the farther back you go. (assuming that there is no Deity) The problem comes when you come to the limit. Matter cannot hold an infinite amount of energy. . . it reaches a point where it destabalizes. . . and loses energy. The big bang theory doesn't work because this object containing all the matter of the future universe would be made of can not destabalize wihout an outside force acting upon it. . . (if it is an unstable piece that is breaking down to the point where it explodes, then it must have been more stable in the past, and more stable farther back into the past. . . and so on, until it reaches a pointof total stability, at which it would never do anything. because it was stable. . . and there are no outside forces to work on it)

The objective evidence for the existence of any deity is the fact, that 'creation on purpose is real'.
In other words, not everything in the universe resembles a creation at random, and, of course, it takes an inspired (spiritual) entity to be creative on purpose. But, who are we to claim to be on top of inspired beings or if you prefer, 'entities' in the universe?

Some people 1,900 years ago claimed that 100 years before they were born something happened, and many people nowadays accept that as absolute proof that it did. Who are you to inject logic or any standard of evidence to their little in joke?

What makes me curious is, if God came down here before, and he certainly did when He created Adam, why can't he drop in now?

There is no proof.
It's all a matter of belief.
