would Christians be ok with that? I mean, those kids have a right to learn about what others believe right?

This question is not to insult, but more of a curious view, I noticed many conservative/fundamentalist christians reinforce gender roles and stereotypes and how the man of the house is usually quiet, unfriendly, seems to hold all emotion within and works a very masculine job (builder, woodsman, etc) and the woman/wife is almost always a homemaker or sews for a living.

My question is, how do you feel about:
men who sew and enjoy creative projects typically more associated with women (knitting, crocheting)
male fashion designers, ballet dancers and models
female athletes/wrestlers/boxers and career women
female builders and construction workers
male nurses and female pastors/church leaders

(I'm not bringing sexual orientation into this, so please no gay/lesbian commentary). I just want to see if conservatives/fundamentalists really do reinforce stereotypical gender roles or are they a little more open than they let on?

For millions of people who embraced Jesus and it changed there life
Here a few some say Jesus changed there life.
1. Helped them stay away from drugs
2. Gave people in prison a reason to believe they have forgivness
and can become better people
3. Has given people miracle healings
4. Helps people love and forgive better
5. Helps people daily in life with there exsistence in many ways

If this is all delsuion as some say why would people be better off without this delsuion as you say (Although I say it is the Holy Spirit) what is a better way for a person to love, understand forgive have hope without Jesus?
Rememeber Jesus did ot come to the arrogant but for the humble?
So what is it???

Philip Pullman quote...(yes, i did just post another post on him)
AN extention of my other post...He feels that he has the right to be hatful and disrespectful to religion and to attack it, just as he has...but he seems to think that others simply should not be allowed to have countering views at all. What an idiot! He is no hero, like some people make him out to be.He Is a frightened fool who wishes to kill and stamp out all thoughts of God and faith just so that he doesn't have to deal with it anymore.
Im not a Christian, or Muslim, or Hindu...what does someone have to be religious to see what a bigot he is?
Why do we throw religion into a box, and decide that it is all evil and the basis of all war and killing in the world?
If we want to look at things that way, than atheism is a religion in and of itself and no less dangerous.
Relgion is not the root of all evil...MEN are because we just so love to hate and fight and detroy anything that disagrees with us.

In the english translation, the commandment says "You shall not kill." I have heard recently that the original hebrew word more closely meant "murder", which is a very particular type of killing. Since I am no hebrew scholar, could someone please educate me on the precise entymology of the original word?

It would make more sense, the same as the difference between a prohibition from lying and one from bearing false witness - a particular and heinous sort of lie.

There was plenty of killing at the hands of the Israelites after the commandments were handed down. So it seems killing is allowed, except when it is unjustified and premeditated.

Please, just the hebrew definition, I'm not interested in a debate over the morality of killing.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't it then logical that if anyone has ever chosen to name a human child (or for that matter, is in fact a human being named) Muhammad, they should also all be shot - as it is surely an insult to a God for such a fallible and flawed creature as any human to be called by His Name? This seems to be the natural extrapolation of the 'reasoning' given by those interviewed over this matter.

Alternatively, if it is OK for a simple, innocent, young boy to be named Muhammad, then it MUST be OK for him to suggest that a child's toy bear should be called by this his own 'human' name...in which case what is the fuss about?

EITHER the name can be used for naming humans, pets, toys or whatever -- OR it is ONLY the preserve of the God-head -- in which case all folks who ever chose to be disparaging to the Lord through deeming it suitable to use His Name in vain to address a mere human MUST also GUILTY of blasphemy. Surely you cannot have it BOTH ways -- can you!

Today, December 1, is World AIDS Day. Did the true God prophesy this dreaded disease that is killing millions every year?

I would like to share with you a prophecy that was revealed by a holy spirit on October 19, 1979 and was published together with other 18 prophecies in the Philippine Panorama, the Sunday magazine supplement of Bulletin Today, a Philippine daily newspaper, on March 30, 1980.

The prophecy states: "A disease known as GOTACURAL will occur in epidemic proportions all over the land, and such disease will be incurable even by the known specialists of the medical profession."

What do you think? Is the disease in the prophecy AIDS? Is there any other disease since 1979 that fulfills the prophecy?

A short write-up about the prophecy can be found at

A minister, a priest and rabbi went in the woods; it was a hot a day. They came to river and decided to jump in to cool off. They got naked and jumped in, after they got out, a group of Boy scouts walked towards them. The three men couldn't reach for the clothes right away, so the Priest and the Minister covered their private parts while the Rabbi covered his face and they ran away, later the Priest and the Minister asked the Rabbi, why he had covered his face but not his privates, in which the Rabbi replied, "I don’t know about you guys, but in my congregation, people recognize my face"!

I mean we have to learn about everything from politics to how to cook .....(in school) shouldn't kids have to at least study the various religions and where they came from as part of history or something? Isn't it obvious this paranoia about not having Christian ANYTHING in school proves there must be something to it? Nobody is afraid of something that isn't real and this just reeks of fear. All the hysteria over how someone might HAVE to look at a Nativity on a lawn and SHUDDER they don't want to see it. Why are you afraid of something you don't believe in? It makes no sense! shouldn't you be more afraid of watcher shirts? Don't most criminals wear them?

My response to an earlier question regarding abortion:

"If Christians hate abortion so much, why do they continually block efforts at easier access to birth control and sexual education in schools?"

Was reported by another user who sent me the following email:

"We don't. This is a LIEberal misotheist lie.

Reported. "

Was my response really worthy of being reported because this guy (who doesn't allow emails so I couldn't even ask him about this) doesn't like my answer? Was my answer exuding a "misotheist" air?
