I've noticed that a lot of Christians that I've met will talk about another Christian behind their back, especially regarding the other guys church. I mean all of them. I've noticed they are so locked up in their own church that they will have nothing to do with each others churches, but almost as if it's bad to go to the other guys church. I asked 6 different Christians at my work that go to different churches and asked them. "Hey would you go to BLANKS church? and he was like "oh no I won't go to their church, heck no I don't go to his church" and the other guy felt the same way about the others guys church, ALL of them did. I'll like all these guys, and I have been to all their churches, they are all nice. I just go to different churches. They didn't know why I was asking, but I was noticing they were totally against the other guys church behind their back, almost as if their church is the ONE perfect church with no flaws. Isn't the church the church? Anyone ever seen this before?

That is funny.
Most christians seem to forget their own bible says to kill the "infidels"
It's just that Islam hasn't reached the modern peak that christianity has.
It shall hopefully =]
Almost every religon has their own "infidel to kill"
and most christians always say to me "But islam says to kill us and jews!"
Well, no flip.
Islam came after those 2, so aparently their infidels.
while christianity came before jews.
and Jews were number 1.
I don't know what Jews "infidels" are, but the other too are excatly the same.
Don't lump corrupt vile muslims [Personally, I don't consider them muslims =/] with the majority of muslims, which most are kind and hate violence agaisn't humans.
What do you think?

I just saw in someone's answer that went like this, "I doubt there are really all that many people who ACTUALLY believe in God. It's just a nice mythology. If anything, most are agnostic, many are probably exactly as you describe."

Is this a widespread opinion? That people who claim to believe in God (doesn't have to be Jesus or what have you) are faking it?

What is your opinion? Do you think that religious people secretly 'know' (or if you're agnostic: suspect?) that there is no God but are just faking it? I don't think I'd ever thought about this before (though I can see why a non-religious person would think that). I'm interested to hear your opinions.

Thanks! :)

I saw this picture, and at first thought it was funny

http://www.vexappeal.com/lolgod/uploaded_images/groundfaith-714848.jpg

(its a picture of a fossil, with text: "I'm in ur ground... testin ur faith")

It then occured to me - science generally doesn't test people's faith. Usually people accept it AND their religion (though conflicts may be present) or they entirely dismiss science... what do you think?

A R.E coursework question. I have done most of the essay but need to do the conclusion. Anyway, I was just wondering what other's views were, and if there are any ideas which I have not thought of whcih I can include in my essay.
Be debatable, hehe. And use a bit of Religious context please, don't just post "YEH!" or "NAAH". I'm actually interested in hearing your opinions.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Office for Film and Broadcasting gave the film, which is rated PG-13, a warm review. The film is not blatantly anti-Catholic but a "generalized rejection of authoritarianism," it said.

While noting the story's "spirit of rebellion and stark individualism," the office said Lyra and her allies' stand for free will in opposition to the coercive force of the Magisterium is "entirely in harmony with Catholic teaching."

HEY GUYS I WASN'T SURE IF YOU HEARD BECAUSE I DON'T THINK ANYONE POSTED IT THREE MILLION TIMES YET, BUT A TEACHER NAMED A TEDDY BEAR MUHOMMAD OR SOMETHING AND GOT THROWN IN JAIL!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously guys, this story has been posted and discussed to death. I know it sucks, but posting about it every five seconds won't do anything. I really don't thin there's anything else any of us can say about it. Can we post something new now? Or at least add it to the drink list?

Jeff S...a member of the AM said

"while currently our Christian army is occupying two Muslim nations and KILLING <----hmmm. why are they so outraged? i just don't get it."

Talking about the Muslims and the english teacher/bear thing...

So...

I have a question for atheists. If your son or daughter is an atheist and is in the Army, or an atheist friend...or for that matter if you know ANYONE in the US army who is non-Christian....do you think they would be shocked/offended that this person is calling them a member of a Christian army?

The first verses of Ezekiel 1:4-28, we read about "whirlwind", "north", "great cloud", "color of amber", "wings", "one wheel" and so on.

What is the spiritual meaning of all these?

Ever thought about why Satan tempted Eve with eating from the tree that was specifically forbidden rather than from the tree of eternal life? (To have tempted her with the tree of eternal life would not have led to sin for it was not forbidden by God).

Nevertheless, he wanted us to die vs living forever.

He hates us cause he hates God.

I don't mean worship the devil... I mean, I'm agnostic because I do not accept that there is God and nor do I deny that there is. I don't know and can't know and in fact don't care to know either.. I'm apathetic.... (treating god as it treats me).

But I don't believe that there is "the devil". So does that mean I am atheist? ...... I mean.. can you have a beleif in God without a belief in the devil?

I have to ask. I'm sure this topic has been going crazy on YA today so I'll add one more to the mess.

This teddy bear Mohammed story.... She made an honest mistake. She didn't do this to insult anyone. Now there is a petition going around wanting her executed by a firing squad.

Are we saying that no one is allowed to make mistakes anymore? That they are willing to **kill** a woman over a teddy bear?

Ok. So you are a christian. Good for you! You’ave got a first class ticket straight to heaven, right?
LOL.

It surprises me how many professed “devout” christians are truly ignorant of their own religion. I mean, if I was going to speak out against someone, I’d make sure I actually knew what I was talking about, and make sure that I wasn’t “casting stones”.

Since the Christmas season is upon us, I thought I’d give you folks something to think about.

The Seven Deadly Sins, also known as the Cardinal Sins, are a group of vices that were originally used in early Christian teachings to educate and instruct followers concerning man's tendency to sin.

Nietzsche's phrase was interpreted by Heidegger as meaning "Metaphysics is dead." Nietzsche's writings are too concerned with God for him to really believe God is gone, what was his intention?

Several news reports describe crowds of furious Muslims in Sudan leaving their mosques, picking up knives and clubs and then marching through the streets demanding that the British teacher be killed.

Wouldn't you like to know what they were told in those mosques?

I pity the lady her judgment, but I have to wonder why she did this. As a literate adult, she had to be aware that heads rolled over the Muhammad cartoon a few years ago, and that author Salman Rushdie had a huge price on his head for blaspheming. I don't think it's (entirely, at least) engaging in the game of blaming the victim to suggest that profaning the diety of a bloodthirsty group of people was foolhardy.

Can you disengage from your propaganda machines long enough to see the outrageously reckless judgment this teacher showed when she decided to name the Teddy bear?

Mind-stretching outside the box answers welcome. If you want to spout hate, I may not be able to stop you, but you'll get thumbs down, reported, AND no ten, guaranteed... because hate isn't the true answer to any question! :)
