Wars and atrocities have been performed throughout the ages in the name of religion. I believe in God but I do not believe in organized religion. It's all very hypocritical and some of it is downright brainwashing.
The book "Trinity" really aggravated me. This loving couple was looked down on and talked about because they showed affection in public. Things like holding hands or hugging. Their one son is killed and the priest had the nerve to tell the lady it was because of her blasphemous actions in public which were an affront in the sight of the Lord that caused all of this. She was so afraid, she drew away from her husband and the marriage was ruined. What nerve.
This was a book but things like that happen all the time in real life. To me that is the sin.
I never could understand gangsters going to church and confessing their sins and then going right back out and doing them again. Oh well, the church is well paid by them I guess.

You are very fortunate. I think belief is personal to each person but it should not be harmful to others.
But when it comes to religions; most people have been brainwashed to BELIEVE stuff that are worthless and stupid and harmful. It's not only the Muslims who have killed in the name of religion, Christians have done it too.
May we have sense to realize this in the name of reason and peace.

I believe in God,not religion. There is a difference.God is the belief that someone is in charge of this world,it is his world and we are just passing Thur,we can choose to believe or not,it is a choice.Religion is the different branches called church, you believe the creed of the church or you find one you can agree with.A man inturpation of what you choose to believe.I do think its necessary, but you won't die if you don't believe in religion.

You dont have to believe in it. Just ignore it, if possible.
To Answerer 1: OK, so religion exists. But you cant prove that god exists. Thats a different matter altogether. Religion can exist even if it turns out that god doesnt!

Nobody demands that you believe in religion. Just remember, we will all have to face the outcome of our decisions and beliefs.

Religion can be dangerous, but belief in God is harmless..try and separate the two and understand religion and God have nothing to do with each other.

Religion exists whether you subscribe to it or not. Saying you don't believe in religion is like saying you don't believe in banks. They exist.
You must be asking if we believe in the things religions say.
The answer from me, then, is no.
