This guy has won the lottery but because he is on probation the state might have a chance to take it away from him. I think that is wrong, slap him with a probation violation but how can they take away a million dollars just because he bought a lottery ticket? Now if he stole it... well ok, but this kind of stuff makes me crazy.

A God who does evil is no God at all. God has no likes and dislikes; He is above and beyond all traits and characteristics. So, how can He be hating or revengeful? He is love, He is mercy, He is goodness, He is wisdom, He is power. He gives what you ask; so, be careful what you ask. Learn to ask the really beneficial boons.

As Witches and Pagans here in Y!A's R&S section, we have been trying to justify ourselves by telling folks what we do NOT do as witches and Pagans. Isn't it time that we actually started letting the community know what we DO?

I believe that there is hatred directed against us which is based on a lack of knowledge about what we do, who we are and why we do what we do. Lack of knowledge leads to fear of us, Fear of us leads to hatred of us. In the interest of educating the R&S communtiy, I would like to begin a series of questions that will help to educate others about our various Religions, our ways, whens, and whys of what we do.

This first question will introduce to the community the idea that there ARE many different paths, Religions and even sects of our Religions. So, for starters,

What is your tradition and in a short post, can you explain what your tradition is all about? What Gods/Goddesses do you worship, how, when, where and why?

It has been written, that Atheism, derived from people
long ago, whose idea was to practically overindulge,
in sins, and immorality. The Charvaka Faith, as it
is known, came around 600 BC. And they created
this concept, that it was foolish of society to enjoy
pain unspeakable, without pleasure. Is this how the
modern day Atheists live their lives ? Now we all know
the difference between right and wrong. So do you guys,
have a sense of purpose, with your spiritual side, is
what I mean. And do you also, think that immorality
can cause a huge discord, or severe unbalanceness,
in a civilized world ? If so, then I wonder why some of
you choose to overindulge, rather than be moderate,
fair, and balanced. Which is crucial, to the state of mind,
among human beings. Even scientists know that there
are consequences, for immorality. You take on morality
and standards. Best answer wins. *

I have had huge faith for God, but right now I am in a scenario with my grown child where I need to hear God as clear as a bell so I can have that obedient faith Abraham had. Be real here, be human, and help me remember in my "panic mode" how I know exactly what God is saying, I just need a little support to get thru this, but I know what I am about to do will not look wise to earthly folks and counselors, but God will want it and He is asking me, I AM QUITE SURE, but remind me how we know we are on HIS path on an issue thanks :)

"We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly;"

When asked if he believed "every word" of the bible, Romney refused to answer. Anderson Cooper saw this and tried to get an answer, but he continued to dodge it. If Romney subscribes to LDS beliefs, which he does claim to do, then the answer should have been simple. What did you think of his answer? Were you aware of the Mormon belief concerning the bible? Does this affect how you feel about Romney?

There are many things that these two religions have in common, a son who came down to save man, who was killed but arose after three days, who had twelve diciples, and many other things. It was a male only religion just like the religion of Peter, all of the christian holidays from old are Mithra, one of the early christian leaders said " that the devil had went back in time and created the Mithra religion to confound christianity!!!

I see the abortion question on here all the time, and most associate that with the Christian relationship, and being against it. But are there any other people that believe that abortion is wrong, and it NOT a Christian? I personaly feel that no matter what my faith is, I would feel the same. I'm 21 years old, my girlfriend is 19 years old, and any day now we are going to be proud parents. I wouldn't give up my daughter for anything in the world, including finacial issues, age issues, or relational issues. My mother was also 19 when I was born, and I had a wonderful childhood.

Evidently Roberts did not want to resign from the university, but that "god insisted." (does it get any funnier than that?) "God" told him that he should resign the next day. Another religious con man and crook bites the dust. I wonder what member of the Roberts clan "god" will speak to next.....

Just wondering what peoples opinions are of being and athiest. Why should i believe in god? Why is it so tragic if from person experience from my life i have made my own decision to become a non believer? I have never had any pressure on from close people to believe in anyone or be part of a religion. I leave a very happy life as an athiest. So why can it be so bad?

A fellow R&S user just sent me an email saying that she saw my definition of "vile temptress" on the Urban Dictionary which is funny, because I had pretty much forgotten that I had submitted it.

I think all you VTs and VT lovers should go out there and submit your own definition:

Everytime there is spiritual question posed ... I hear that failiar tune in my head
"Jokers to the left of me fools to the right, here I am stuck in the middle again..."
But instead I hearI hear ...
"Bible belt to the left of me Atheist to the right ...here I am stuck in the middle again ..."

This is not a knock on those people. I respect your beleifs. This is a question to those spiritual people stuck in the middle who beliefs do not follow a doctrine or a book ...

Really, no bull, it is the cross that holds every thing about us together. 2000 years ago Paul wrote

For he ( Christ) holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

I know you are thinking, blah blah balh, what an idiot, what a moron. This has nothing to do with faith. This is SCIENCE. Pure BIOLOGY. What Paul wrote back then has been found to be true today. It only took ‘science’ 2100 years to find it out. It’s called ‘laminin’ and its what hold you together. Every cell in your body is held together with laminin. Its that simple. Your skin cells, your cells that make up your brain, your organs, your flesh, all of them. Just like the ‘skin’ on a sausage link holds the sausage together, laminin holds you together. But you know what the great part of this is??? For the atheists out there who knows what’s coming now, does it just drive you crazy the way God puts his fingerprints on everything? Don’t you hate it when Science points BACK to the cross of cavalry? Oh I know you will say it is a coincidence or ‘a random chance’ but deep in side you know better. Wanna see the fingerprints of God? You might as well, you are covered with them. Billions and billions of them. From the top down, each of us is covered with the cross.

Hebrews 12:1-18
God Disciplines His Sons
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”[a]

I've known a number of developmentally delayed people in my life.

One had the reading level of a 2nd grader, but went to church religiously. She couldn't understand the Bible, but could understand the basics (e.g. the Ten Commandments), and took joy in singing hymns and was generally a very good, kind person to others.

Another could not read at all, but went to church occasionally. He was homeless at the time, but expressed a love for God and his family.

Basically, neither of these people had the ability to read the Bible at a level that many people can, let alone derive complex theories on God's intent through metaphor presented in scripture. However, they are good people, they don't go around punching people in the face, berating others, or other blatantly sinful acts, they live and are happy with their belief in God.

What of these people who love God even though they can't understand the Bible? Will they be allowed to get into heaven, or will they be blocked at the gates?
