I have had huge faith for God, but right now I am in a scenario with my grown child where I need to hear God as clear as a bell so I can have that obedient faith Abraham had. Be real here, be human, and help me remember in my "panic mode" how I know exactly what God is saying, I just need a little support to get thru this, but I know what I am about to do will not look wise to earthly folks and counselors, but God will want it and He is asking me, I AM QUITE SURE, but remind me how we know we are on HIS path on an issue thanks :)

Be still and wait, and let us remember that Abraham waited how long for a son ??????????? remember when you are telling me to wait, you might be asking me to wait like 80 years or more for an answer, just be sure you understand what "wait" means in God;s time

Miguel, if you were sitting in the boat and Jesus appeared on the lake and asked you to walk across the water to Him, would you do it, in real life ? Only Peter of the 12 did it, so we may hear what God is calling, but it make take the faith of Abraham to do it, or the faith of Peter who by the way sank after a few steps as that is as long as his human faith held up. I think we like to "pretend," but put yourself alongside peter today in a boat in the middle of a big lake and then honestly tell me if you would step out on water ?????? It is a very very very hard thing to do if you reallly put your hands around it in life today

Step 1, admit that you don't know the next best step.

Step 2, resist struggling and problem solving in your own head

Step 3, ask in faith, knowing that you need a solution that comes from something bigger than you

Step 4, wait patiently with faith, be still and know, and you will understand at the right time in a wordless way

I don't get this. On the one hand you say that you "need to hear God as clear as a bell" then you contradict yourself when you say that "He is asking me." If "He" is asking you then that means you HEARD him asking you, "clear as a bell." So first you don't hear your god, but then you do. That's confusing.

I find it a little scary when you say "I know what I am about to do will not look wise to earthly folks and counselors." It also implies that you've already MADE A DECISION, so I don't understand why you're asking for support and/or guidance. But if that's what you want, then I hope for your sake that some believer can give it to you.

Added: Sorry, Wendy b., but that's really a silly scenario to pose to a confirmed atheist like me. I know that your bible is a work of fiction. But that's not my point here at all. We believe what we believe, and I certainly don't want to "convert" you to my way of thinking. That's why I said that for your sake, I hope another believer like you can give you what you need. I sure can't.

P.S. Why is your avatar a silhouette of a man if your name is "Wendy?" Just curious.

first of all, draw near to God and He will draw near to you (james 4:8).. Holy Spirit will talk to you, and these signs can be for you to discern His Voice.
1. There's a abundantly calm and peace with that voice
2. Will not go against the Bible Scriptures
3. Will always glorified Jesus, not human works and human flesh.
Good luck and He will definitely speaks to you, You're His child.

Pray. Ask yourself if you would do this thing if God was standing beside you. Open your Bible often and read it.
Do your best with the understanding we all make mistakes.
If you honestly think God is asking you to do something, I suggest you do it.
