If you have to have a god, make it yourself. Then you can indulge in mental, physical, and emotional gratification without the guilt. However, responsibility will ultimately be your salvation. Be what Nature intended you to be. If everyone did this, than Nature would balance out. If you are a rapist or murderer by Nature, then someone else's who's Nature it is to hunt down and exterminate poeple like you would be justified in their existence. And that would be right.

You're asking quite the impossible question to answer. Personally i feel any religion that allows one to grow spiritually and care for the general community around the person is a recommend religion to follow. One should join a religion if he/she feels the religion advocates the "right" thing to do and the belief is in line with person's principle of life, not forgetting giving a new meaning in life as well.
as for who is correct, i would ask you a question in return, "what is correct? and what is right?" or "what is black and what is white?" It's all just names we give to things that we think fitting the bill. End of the day, it's just humans who's deciding who's right and who's wrong , and ultimately there will always be no clear line between black and white. It's always a gray world that we live in.

Why believe in Christianity over all other religions?
Critics often ask why Christianity is any better than any other religion in the world. After all, of all the religions that exist how can it be that only Christianity is true? If God exists, why can't God use different religions? Don't all paths lead to God? Skeptics ask these kinds of questions all the time and, unfortunately, few Christians have the the answers. Therefore, in an attempt to demonstrate why Christianity is true and all other religious systems are false, I've prepared the follow list of reasons for Christianity's superiority.

Religion is a word we use to group ourselves. Humans tend to like being part of some group, and religion gives us that. So, I believe that religion is the grouping. Faith, in my opinion is the real guiding light. What do you believe? How should you live your life? What can you do as you go to sleep at night to let yourself know that you will wake in the morning to face another day, or if you don't wake that your spirit and soul will live on for eternity. When you can answer these questions, then you have found the best religion.

There have been millions of people killed over the centuries over who has the "best" religion and who is "correct". There has been untold ruined lives and human misery as a direct consequence of precisely that question.

Nobody's religion is the best. I'm Christian, but not because I made a careful study of all the world's religions and decided on that one. It is the faith of my ancestors, my culture, and my society.

The same goes for Jews and Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists and everyone else.

I'm trying, as diplomatically as I can, to tell you that your question is inflammatory, insensitive, and downright dumb.

None. what is wrong with people using their brains in the manner in which it is best for. Before Religion their was Philosophy and I am unclear as to why people can't just make up their own philosophy of life instead on relying on the words that someone else made up.

Take your pick:

Christianity: servitude to higher being, repent to higher being because humans are imperfect. Don't worship other Gods. Other gods are from Satan.

Catholicism: the Pope is God, leader of all Christians. Even though the bible doesn't say that and actually warns against following Rome. But the bible's wrong. Other Gods are A-okay, so long as you worship the pope too. Worship Mary.

Judaism: servitude to a higher being, but we don't believe Christ has come ... yet ... or yet ... or yet ... Hey Christians can I see that bible!?

Islam: serve Allah but he doesn't like you. BTW, go kill that guy. We're simply adding onto Christianity not attacking it, but Jesus isn't Christ. Worship Mary.

Buddhism: mankind's repentance lies within itself ... because humans have a fine history of being fine humans. Worship as many Gods as you want - we like Mary.

Satanism: Satan is right, God is a liar. Even though Satan is mentioned only in the bible, which means God is lying, so Satan doesn't exist. Worship any God you want, except the Christian one, because the rest are Satan. Worship Mary because she's human.

Wicken: we'll take every thing we can latch onto, thanks. Broom, broom, away on my broom! Worship any God you want because they're all from the same source - except the Christian one. Mary reminds us of Isis, so worship her.

Hinduism: you grow better in every life, one day you become a god and live as such - ain't worked yet, has it, Calcutta? Worship any God you want.

Various Asian traditions: humans can be gods. Worship any God you want.

Friend,

You can not say this Religion is THE BEST.All religions preach the way to realise Him.

No religion preaches hatred .As the proverb ''All roads lead to Rome.'' says, same way all Religions lead to Him.

It is your personal liking and level of understanding that religion that makes you like it dislike it.It is purely one's personal thing and one should not rub anything forcibly.

That is my humble opinion.

Though it isn't techinically a religion, I would have to say Buddhism is pretty damn close.
Tells you you must be peaceful and loving but it encourages critical thinking and coming to your own conclusions [provided they fall under the peaceful and loving thing. But since when has violence been progressive anyway.]
No one comes to you and tries to give you little pamphlets outlining why they are the most correct.
Win/win IMHO.

the best religion would be God's religion ... take a copy of God's bio and look what God answered ... if its blank, then you can forget about religion
