It has been written, that Atheism, derived from people
long ago, whose idea was to practically overindulge,
in sins, and immorality. The Charvaka Faith, as it
is known, came around 600 BC. And they created
this concept, that it was foolish of society to enjoy
pain unspeakable, without pleasure. Is this how the
modern day Atheists live their lives ? Now we all know
the difference between right and wrong. So do you guys,
have a sense of purpose, with your spiritual side, is
what I mean. And do you also, think that immorality
can cause a huge discord, or severe unbalanceness,
in a civilized world ? If so, then I wonder why some of
you choose to overindulge, rather than be moderate,
fair, and balanced. Which is crucial, to the state of mind,
among human beings. Even scientists know that there
are consequences, for immorality. You take on morality
and standards. Best answer wins. *

In other words, what is your opinion
on morality, and how do you display
it, in your daily life.

You've been fed a politically spun interpretation of Charvaka designed to mislead, giving it far more credit that it deserves and you are perpetuating the deception with the false presumptions in your argument.
Atheists are not the prodigy of "The Charvaka Faith". In fact, the very idea that a "Faith" of any name would be the origin of Atheism is ridiculous. In truth, no-one is born Christian or Muslim or, even, Jewish, no matter what anyone says. Everyone is born Atheist. That was true in 600BC, 6000BC, 600AD and it will be true in 2010AD. Atheism has no dogma attached to it. Your argument requires that it does, so, all of that aspect can be dismissed for the nonsense it is. All that leaves is the entirely secular issue of morality which is an ever evolving subject and, since you have erroneously attached an irrelevant dogma to the specifics of Atheist morality in your argument, it would be inappropriate to address that aspect, here, either.
You have not asked a question, at all, really. All you've done is lie, in public, about what Atheists are. I'll express one opinion on morality. Yours is very questionable.

Im sure you get Christians or muslims that overindulge or dont follow the ten commandments strictly!! You cant generalise like that!! Look how corrupt the Catholic church was back in the day and when protestants had to come into action to stop it all!! Religion is merely a guide or a way of life some people choose! Just because Im an athiest doesnt mean that I am immoral or indulge more than religious people! What a dumb question! You get loadsa crazy Christians who are very immoral!!

So religious people never overindulge and have the morals of a saint do they? Please have a sense of reality...religious or non religious we are all human and all have human flaws...without wanting to go over well trodden ground churches need to look inwards and be honest about the abuse that goes on within closed doors and realise they are not above the rest of humanity. I have no interest in "winning" this answer(how shallow!) I wanted to comment on your pompous attitude which often seems typical of religious people.
I think aethists have a better understanding of the human condition and are better placed to lead the masses.

I don't need a fictional "father" to tell me right from wrong. I know what is right and what is wrong.
I have been happily married for 15 years, I am faithful, I do not lie, I volunteer, I help my neighbors, friends and homeless. I don't eat meat because I believe killing is wrong for me, however, I do not preach about this to ANYONE because I also think being pious is wrong. So as for being moral, and choosing to overindulge I am not sure what you mean. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I try not to overeat. We grow a lot of what we eat, we didn't have children because we feel the world is over populated and we help single parents in our community. Do you?

It has been written? You mean just now? Honestly, to say someone is immoral just because they choose not to believe in a higher power is naive and judgmental. Some of the most immoral people I have ever known went to church every week...maybe they feel they need to beg for forgiveness more =)

What spiritual side? You have cited no sources that states we have any. My take on morality is that we should do good not because of a man made Hebrew God, but because it is the right thing to do. We do right action for it is the right thing to do. I do not understand why people need to told what is write and wrong and by the way my morality comes from nature. The order of things is such that sometimes good people get killed and sometimes evil people get killed.

I've never heard of the Charvaka Faith so obviously don't live my life as they did. I'm simply a modern man in a modern world with a modern way of thinking.

stop talking rubbish.. i think you've been looking in the bible for far too long!
just because i am atheist doesn't mean i will be going down the street pistol whipping everyone i go past.
being moral doesn't come from religion but rather from your up bringing.
knowing whats wrong and right does not come from a made up man (Jesus)
there are so many Christians who go around hurting people.. so how on earth can you justify that?

Zodiac man (interesting you chose the name of a serial killer) There is certainly no morality in the old testament. In fact it portrays god as a psychotic serial killer more than anything. Anyway, you want to ban films, you are no better than the taliban, you're on a par with them.

That's ridiculous. Atheism means "no belief in any god(s)."
Everyone enters this world as atheist, and only becomes something different through exposure to dogma.
