I've known a number of developmentally delayed people in my life.

One had the reading level of a 2nd grader, but went to church religiously. She couldn't understand the Bible, but could understand the basics (e.g. the Ten Commandments), and took joy in singing hymns and was generally a very good, kind person to others.

Another could not read at all, but went to church occasionally. He was homeless at the time, but expressed a love for God and his family.

Basically, neither of these people had the ability to read the Bible at a level that many people can, let alone derive complex theories on God's intent through metaphor presented in scripture. However, they are good people, they don't go around punching people in the face, berating others, or other blatantly sinful acts, they live and are happy with their belief in God.

What of these people who love God even though they can't understand the Bible? Will they be allowed to get into heaven, or will they be blocked at the gates?

These are all overruled with one simple verse found in John, and probably the most famous. John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, the He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." This verse eclipses all others you stated by far, obviously. Where does it say in the Bible that humans have lived for nearly 300 hundred years? There is only one human race that is stated in the Bible, and that all started with Adam and Eve, as we know by far surpass the time span of 300 years. You obviously have not researched honestly and instead halfheartedly, for as archeological studies carry on, they actually now believe there was in fact a great flood, not to rule out the fact that the measurements of Noah's ark were the perfect angles and side lengths for a boat that could withstand great aqua force. It's true that the Bible can appear to have quite a few contradictions involving the different variations of the four gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, but when researched, the fact that they all correlate greatly by far overrules the minute contradictions they share.

Those who believe shall have ever lasting life - period.
My preacher said church is all man-made. You don't have to go to church to go to heaven. You don't even have to be a good person to go to heaven. We all sin; no one is perfect.
We just go to church to worship.

And no, I don't believe someone would be blocked because they could not understand the bible. But I would suggest getting a different version of the bible. There are ones out there that are somewhat translated into words that are easier to understand. That's the kind I use because it was hard for me to read and comprehend sentences using alot of "thou" and "shalt" and other old English words; and it made it alot easier to read and enjoy. Also if you are really committed to trying to understand the bible, try going a bible study group!

Try talking to a preacher about it. He'd love to talk with you :)

I struggled with that kind of question once over the loss of a pregnancy. I had a friend tell me that he felt that God doesn't send you to hell on a technicality. I thought he was making light of it at first but the more we talked the better explanation I got of God being so much more than our minds can understand. Your question is asking us to come up with a human decision from a non-human god. God knows a persons heart, he knows them "before you were in the womb". God just knows.

The only way to go to heaven and not be sent to eternal hell is to believe that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again.

The Kingdom of Heaven is within!!!
If you are not within, you are without!
You can "think" you understand, but "true" understanding comes from within, and is the right of everyone who turns in that direction!
Peace and Blessings.....
