How many people out there can relate to this feeling ...

Everytime there is spiritual question posed ... I hear that failiar tune in my head
"Jokers to the left of me fools to the right, here I am stuck in the middle again..."
But instead I hearI hear ...
"Bible belt to the left of me Atheist to the right ...here I am stuck in the middle again ..."

This is not a knock on those people. I respect your beleifs. This is a question to those spiritual people stuck in the middle who beliefs do not follow a doctrine or a book ...

Anyone out there... or is just me ...

I don't have enough room on here to tell you what I believe ... But it certainly does not follow a book to the letter ... Although there are some good ideas in there ...

"The realization that comes to me that there are many faiths and religions in this life, all are a "path" to the ultimate..."Spirituality. Something within ourselves where we find inner peace that we can not find anywhere else. People find the need to believe in something whether it is seen or unseen, real or supernatural; the illusion of a higher power is what drives us to be that "Perfect Person". Whether it is taught to us, watched by us, or sought out by our own hand, the path that a person is on is the path that they are supposed to be on. It will lead them to where they need to be. This conclusively is their "Spirituality"." Follow your instincts.

What exactly, do you follow? Where do you stand? I have far more respect for an atheist than an agnostic. At least the atheist is able to make a commitment to their unbelief. The fence riding agnostic figures, ."...well, if I stay in the middle I can, at least, not be held responsible for completely denying God." Well, here is the truth! Agnostics go to the same place as all unbelievers. There is no chance they are going to be allowed to sneak into heaven through the plumbing or by some technicality. God has set the standard and all shall be held to it. Additionally, Christians are on the right, everyone else is on the left.

Atheists are not running around forcing their oppinion on people... I read your responses about any pagans.. well pagan is an old term refering to people who had no religion and served no god... they were religified when the religious people took exception to them... to justify their murder the christians would proclaim that they had rituals that served the devil... so today we think as pagans in a religious light.. because of this a new term evolved to reflect what a pagan was that term is atheist... we are born spiritual, mental emotional, and physical... one of the problems with the world today is that people are functioning as if we MUST have a religion, as if that is what spirituality is all about.. the truth is there is a natural purpose for spirituality and we don't understand that because religions claim they know what that is... religions are not interested in understanding nature or truth ... they fought to hold onto the beleif that the world was flat... they fought against the understanding of gravity which is undeniably a law of nature, today they are doing exactly the same thing with evolution, which is as much a law of nature as gravity... what we don't know about nature is astronomical and the religious fight the study, examination and understanding of it every step of the way... we are the generation saying that the world is flat, we are the generation saying that gravity is a myth... but we do it with evolution, at this rate we won't come close to understanding what spirituality is about for there is a natural reason for every thing ... it's like first this is the world, next I hold you to me with gravity, then this is how we came to be.. evolution.. we won't ever get the answers holding onto christian beleifs... the earth is telling us there is no god... when will we start to listen.

Yes, I feel the same. I have a strong spiritual life with no religious ties also. I feel that most religions corrupt the message of those they say they serve until it is no longer recognizable. I can see the atheist view because they also see the corrupted message, but feel they throw the baby out with the bath water. I find myself just unwilling to share, mostly because this is a war zone & voicing an opinion that either side dislikes can get you suspended. Mostly I just duck much of the time.

Indeed. James & John wanted to be L & R of Nothing.
The Narrow Way is as Nothing, till it becomes either:
Draw Back to Perdition <--or--> Go On to Perfection.

Broad Way <-- Narrow Way --> More Excellent Way

Pst: only the "greatest" of three things never fails.
Anything less than that is considered a fail-u-are.

God said: let there be light, not lights nor light + darkness.
That God is (all) light, and in him there is no darkness at all.
That light is neither great nor greater, but greatest of 3 things.

Let "them" have "their end": 1Cor 14:38; Gal 1:8,9
Let "us" go on to perfection: Heb 6:1... Rev 22:21

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Spirituality of itself is just the desire to connect with that which is outside of yourself and more powerful than yourself. You are made by God with a desire to seek that out. If you have no beliefs, no doctrine, and no book to guide you then you are left to your own resources. As a fallible human being that lacks total knowledge then you will not be able to find the God who made you without someone bringing you to Him. Please don't stay out in the middle. Let someone bring you to Jesus so that you may be saved.

Hope that helps.

Well..for one thing it is Bible belt to the Right and the Atheist to the left.

A person who is spiritual would not be stuck in the Middle.

A person stuck in the Middle is also known as "luke Warm"

Jesus spoke of a Luke warm Christain.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth

You're probably the majority. But if you can't figure out what your position is, or don't know why you hold it, you can't enter a meaningful discussion. That's why the discussion is mostly between polar opposite positions.
