I had a weird experience. I was at a gay pride event and a group of evangelical fundamentalists came in and started praying right in the middle of the fairgrounds. When they started praying the Our Father, a bunch of gay Christians went up to them and tried to pray with them. While they were praying a lot of the fundies got mad and told the gay people to shut up and that they couldn't pray the our Father. They started singing Amazing Grace and the gay Christians sang with them. Then they got mad and went home.

Why would a Christian tell another person not to pray?

I received an e-mail from a friend who thinks political correctness has gone too far and wanted your opinion.
It contained a poem about Merry Christmas not being in stores and Happy Holidays instead. I'm not going to print it here as it's too long. I posted it on the Christmas site and all I got was ignorant answers that had nothing to do with the question so I deleted it.

My thoughts were this. They should put up Merry Christmas signs as well as Happy Channukah signs and Happy Kwanza or whatever it's called as all these holidays fall within the same time period. Why delete one? Also, if you are not sure what religion someone is then I would think saying Happy Holidays to them would be correct. I can see someone getting upset if they were Jewish and someone said Merry Christmas. I can see trying to all get along and respect each others beliefs. I just don't think erasing Merry Christmas from everything is going to solve anything.

This is a serious question:

She gave birth to hundreds of children, she lived hundreds of years, wouldn't that affect her physiologically? That's a lot of kids to feed.

The most common defense for abortion is "the health of the mother", but in reality only 4% of abortions are performed for that reason and 3% because of possible complications with the fetus (i.e. eugenics). Less than 0.5% is attributable to rape (another popular defense). The other 93% are for various matters of convenience.

So when Christendom seeks to defend the "unborn", the reasons are pretty clear. Why is it that the unChristian so often take refuge in that 4% rather than approaching the issue rationally?

The Roman Catholic Church claims it traces back the lineage of their Pope and Apostolic Traditions to St. Peter. It claims to be the Mother Church. And follows Apostolic Tradition EXACTLY.

The Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem is regarded by Orthodox Christians as the Mother Church of all of Christendom, because it was in Jerusalem that the Church was established on the day of Pentecost with the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:1-41). Thus, practicing Apostolic Tradition EXACTLY.

Why are they Not even in communion?
Why cast stones at the Protestants? Does this not also disqualify the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches method of using Apostolic Tradition, since they are Divided against themselves?
Both churches make the identical claim that they follow Apostolic Tradition EXACTLY. Just like the Protestants claim to follow Sola Scriptura Exactly.
Whose "Church Authority" shall we believe? Whose Tradition
is the one we should follow

My opinion is that any "mother" who chooses herself above her children is selfish and irresponsible. If you are unable to assume the risks of parenthood you have no business getting pregnant. If you do get pregnant when contraceptives fail- you should assume any risks associated with having the baby as EVERYONE knows no contraceptive is 100% effective.

Your opinions?

John O'neill wanted to investigate the terrorists who were planning to blow up the trade towers on 911, but he was prevented from doing so by our president. President Bush signed Presidential Directive W199I, making it a crime to investigate or hinder terrorists in any way. Disgusted that the Bush administration was obstructing justice and aiding and abetting terrorists, John O'neill washed his hands of the evils within our government.
O'neill was given a new career as Director of Security at the Trade Towers in New York City. His first day on the job? September 11th, 2001. John O'Neill was deliberately conspired against to be assassinated on 911. Why? The powers that be were afraid John O'neill would talk, and he would have. They wanted to shut him up. "The main obstacles to investigate Islamic terrorism were US oil corporate interests, and the role played by Saudi Arabia in it," O'Neill told the authors of an explosive book, Hidden Truth (Forbidden Truth in the US) Your thoughts?

I personally can't think of many examples in which an organized religion has really promoted female equality. Maybe, Epsicopalians, because they support the ordination of women.

Just look at the Baptists, who have openly come out against having female preachers.

Look at the Muslim community, and Amish Community where women have to wear veils.

Do you think the Dali Lama would ever be a woman? Even Scientology is focused around a guy. Muhammed, Jesus, and Moses were all men, no surprise there. Do you think an orgainzed religion would ever be focused around a woman?

So women, my question is this. Why do you put up with these stupid religions that seem to be so focused on keeping you one step behind men?

" if people lived the Beatitudes of the Christian Faith or the 5 Precepts of the Buddhist and the equivalents in the other particular faiths there would be world peace.

Faith ethically and humanely lived is the solution not the problem "

How do you feel towards your religion? God? Has your faith gone? Did it go away but gradually returned or was there a defining moment that snapped you back. I asked my friend these questions and she said she lost her faith but she heard a gospel song which brought her back to Christianity.
