Every time I talk to a Christian about the topic, they bring up that they are under the covant with Abraham. Though the Christian experts say we are not and over 75% on earth are not circumcised.

As Christians we are called to feed the poor, clothe the naked, help those suffering, etc. so what organization do you support/recommend that does that?

I'd have to recommend

International Justice Mission
They seek to help those unduly afflicted by oppressive and corrupt governments and

Shared Hope International
They seek to set free young girls and women sold into the sex slavery.

Christian Freedom International
They help persecute Christians around the globe escape from torture and death. They also seek to help those in prison for their faith. (They go into countries regardless of whether or not they've been invited. They take Christ's command to go into ALL the world as literal and don't wait for political correctness.)

What are some ministries you'd recommend? Thanks!

It is human nature to seek what we value. The more we value it, the harder we will seek it unless we're sure it doesn't exist or we're sure we can't find it. For example people line up to buy lottery tickets even though they have a better chance of being struck by lightning. And as the lottery prize grows, the lines of people grow.

Setting aside any particular description of God (Bible, Koran, etc.) except that of God as our Creator, we have no way to know if our Creator exists nor even a way to assign a probability. Many have said they're found Him so we can't be sure that we can't.

I think that it is a matter of worth. We will not seek our Creator if we don't see Him as having worth. For a moment, assume your Creator exists. What would be His value to you?

I just asked two questions: one directed at atheists, one at Christians. I asked atheists if they feel intellectually superior to theists, and Christians if they feel morally superior to atheists.

I'm a big fan of people speaking up for themselves. I mean, if I want to know what a person thinks, isn't it best to ask that person instead of just assume?

Yet on BOTH questions people chimed in about someone elses's view. A non-atheist answered on the first question that YES, atheists do feel superior, and a non-Christian answered on the second question that YES, Christians do feel superior.

This is one of the thing that really annoys me about R&S. Instead of genuinely seeking the opinions of others we bring all our presuppositions to the table and try to impose them on other people.

I've known Christians who think they are superior, and Christians who don't think that way at all. Same with atheists. You can't make a statement for the entire group. So why do we do it anyway?

There seem to be conflicting beliefs here & I still don't understand. I'm talking about mainstream Christian perspectives like Catholicism & Protestantism. I've already received an answer from a Calvinist so... no need to have that explained to me again.

Anyhow... I've noticed two distinct perspectives & I want to know if y'all consider them reconcilable or if you're sure that it's one way or the other.

One point of view asserts that God judges us. We try to do what we're told, we ask forgiveness, we accept Jesus as our savior, we do good things & pray & donate to charity & help old ladies across the street, etc. And then God judges us. HE gets to decide where we go. HE has the final say.

Another point of view states that our actions & beliefs (like those mentioned above: our faith in God/Jesus, our good deeds, our obedience, etc) constitute a decision on our part. This is OUR decision to either do what's necessary to qualify for Heaven or to not do what's necessary. (continued..)

I wish my dad could of raised most men in America based on the Character, Family Values and Love for GOD by all of her brothers.

No Osmond brother has been divorced they have larger than normal families have not succumbed to the material trappings of Fame, Alcohol or Drug Abuse remain extremly close to each other give all of there credit to there parents in showing them love for GOD and family...

Isn't this a representation that the ideal family GOD hopes everyone to have is a Mother and Father that can love teach and produce contributing children who know love, commitment and faith is the preservation to the *Family*

I have read countless posts about those refusing to accept Jesus will be cast into the pits of fire.

Question 1: What is the difference between refusal and lack of action?

Question 2: Please respond to this...
To me that claims sounds like some reward and punishment system. Pledge your fealty to Jesus and earn your reward. Refuse to pledge, and the mafia boss is gonna put you on ice (I mean fire). So you are implying that I should believe to avoid punishment. What type of religious dogma is that? It sounds that one should become Christian out of SELFISH motivation rather than to find a path of enlightenment.

The logic to your persuasive argument eludes me. Please enlighten me more and WITHOUT QUOTING THE BIBLE.

What if you both act in the exact same way, but one believes in a higher power and the other doesn't? Does still that make you morally or spiritually superior because you believe in a higher power? Or do you not think in those terms?

I know everyone is different, that's why I'm asking this individually instead of making an assumption about all Christians.

Any religion? Only certain religions? Fundamentalists? Or no one?

I've known some atheists who genuinely believe that they are, and some who don't think they are at all. I know it's an individualized thing and that's why I'm asking you individually instead of making a blanket statement.

Some of the followings seem contradictory....
..For example:

God is jealous: "For the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." (Exod. 34:14)

Jealousy is a sin: "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious ... jealousy" (Gal. 5:19-20)

If jealousy is a sin, and God is jealous, then the only conclusion we can draw is that God is a sinner

In my World Civilizations class the other day, we were discussing the origins of religions. We were on the topic of Christianity, and he was talking about the Holy Trinity. Now my question is, why is Christianity considered monotheistic if there is the Holy Trinity. Please enlighten me (for disclosure's sake, I'm atheist)

(forgive me for this repeat: it seems no one saw the first post)

A recent post asked for the scriptual basis for Catholic teachings. As usual, the scriptual simpletons displayed their utter lack of understanding about authentic Christianity, and pulled out the tired old list of supposedly unscriptual teachings (pope, purgatory, Mary, yadda yadda yadda).

My question is: If everything pertaining to Christian teaching is to be found in the Bible, then it should say somewhere in the Bible that "everything pertaining to Christian teaching is to be found in the Bible". Where does it say that? I have found the Church in the Bible, and I have found that the Church is the "pillar and foundation of thruth" (1 Timothy 3:15). I have found deacons and bishops in the Book of Acts, but I have nowhere found that everything pertaining to Christian teaching is to be found in the Bible.

Also, people say things like don't be satisfied get more and others say be satisfied which they say not being satisfied is a bad thing by having everything u want like cars and a big house. I always be satisfied with what i have but, i want to have and get more and have somthing to show for my success and enjoy it which i don't see is a bad thing at all. And, what difference does it make if i want more because it's not like it's goin' to make the world a worst place. Oh', i'm also 17 years old, just to remind u.

Why are they so stubborn? The Bible clearly states that we was created by God. It don't say nothing about us evolving from a bunch of dim-witted monkies!
