Jesus was a practicing Jew, but in the way that it was meant to be, not how the Pharisees twisted it. Jesus brought the New Covenant to humanity, thus Christian is simply Christ like, he was the Christian.

Jesus was born into a Jewish family. Jesus was born at a time where the Jewish Law had to be followed. Obviously he had not died for every ones sin and the Law was not redefined. When he came he redefined the law. Jesus had to live by the Jewish laws and lived by the law. Although as you read the new testament you can see where he redefines the law. He begins to state things like No one comes to the father but through me. Ect.. When he died his apostles where to go and spread the Gospel. That was the beginning of Christianity. He became the sin. Before in Jewish law you could not be clean unless you sacrificed a lamb or held rituals according to the Jewish law that would make you clean. However after Jesus died he became the sacrifice. He became the lamb with out blemish. Because of his blood we no longer have to live according to the Jewish Law. Jesus was both Man and God he was sent here on a mission. He accomplished that. I hope that makes sense to you. I hope that answers your question too.

Um......... he was Jewish; and yes he was practising as he was a Rabbi. He could not have been Christian, lol, as in terms of religion as well, he's kind the guy it's founded on LOL. His death & resurrection, along with his being the fulfillment of the Law (Jewish Law) in terms of Messianic Prophecy, is what his disciples followed, believing him to be the Eternal God incarnate, and how the term "christian" came about. But Jesus, was a Jew.

He was a Practicing Jew, but he did many things that Christians should practice (pacifism, non-judging personality etc), He did them and others try to imitate, then he is A Practicing Jew and Christian practices were part of His personality.

Well, seeing as how Jesus is the basis of Christianity, Christianity didn't exist until he was around. He was a Jew, otherwise he'd be worshipping himself which I doubt he would have done.

saying jesus was a practicing christian is like saying that ghengis khan used the atomic bomb to conquer so much territory even though the atomic bomb wasnt invented until centuries later.

jesus was a jew who practiced judism, with reforms he believed should be added in. later people invented christianity and focused it on him, and created less restrictive beliefs than judism was at that time in order to attract more followers.

Actually, one way christianity in the early days attracted large numbers of followers was to give more freedom to women, thus many ealy converts were women.
