Yes. My Aunt, whose name I won't reveal, had a serious drug and alcohol problem. Plus, she's been incarcerated several times and no longer has custody of her son. I've helped her in the past. She screamed that she hated me and that I was no longer her family. It hurt, but I still love her.
Recently, we just buried the hatchet so to say. I was so glad to see her and she is on the road to recovery. She still has a long way to go.
If someone gives you hate for love, just keep loving them anyway. Sooner or later they will give in. And if all else fails, ask them to forgive you, whether or not you've done anything to hurt them. Then, the ball is in their court on what to do next.

Not necessarily hatred, but I've had people who were not kind when I tried to be a friend.

yes i finally met a man who i thought was my soul mate, and brought all my barriers down (1st time in my life) and he turned out to be psycho evil man, who still stalks me occasionally - just to put the fear of god in me. im not the neurotic type but 5 yrs on i still have nightmares about him
