You are describing what the Mormon church encourages it's members to strive for in family life. The family is supposed to be a support system that encourages each member to their betterment. An Ideal family has the power to completely change a life. Many ideal families could change the world. Consider how you were impacted by your family, and then consider how it would be different if they were better or worse than they are now. I beleive that God wants the best for his children, and that includes great families that love and support one another as Marie describes.

The Osmond family is a great example of the perfect family lol. They even had 2 brothers who are def...and I didn't know that until I saw Entertainment tonight and there were showing highlights of Oprah's show...
In our church(I'm the same religion as the Osmonds) family comes first...that's the whole thing. Without the family, nothing else can stand. It's like the building blocks of society basically. We work hard to keep our families and our relationships together.

I thought it was very sweet, the tribute Marie paid to both her parents and her brothers in that comment she made about wishing her parents had raised every man. It's sad for her to not have found the kind of husband she deserves. If every child had a strong family and loving parents, they would have a much better chance in life.
You didnt' say anything about Mormonism in your question, so it's interesting to me that so many of the answers talk directly about that.
If you had said something like, isn't it great about Oprah Winfrey doing something nice for others, no one would reply "yeah that's because she's a Baptist."

While I commend the family for good values and instilling those values in their children, this family is still LOST and going to hell. Not because of what they DO or did, but because they have not believed in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for their salvation. They are trusting the Mormon CHURCH, and their teachings are not only NOT biblical , but are not TRUE.
What could be worse than giving people a false sense of security by leading them into a "religion" that has NO HOPE, and no TRUE God?

On that same show, Marie announced her divorce. How is that different?
Mormons are generally good moral people. But the god they worship is the human father of Satan and Jesus who are both humans.
I have a serious problem with that. Don't you?

They are an exceptional family, especially given the fact that they have lived most of their lives under the glare of the media spotlight.

It's a good thing that you said "brother" because Marie has been divorced and her son is in rehab.

So now you're recommending Mormonism? Raising children well has nothing to do with god and everything to do with having good parents.
