I can't seem to find my wedding ring or my digital camera? I was wondering if it is possible for a psychic to tell me where I might have misplaced them. I am willing to pay a great reward when the job is done.

I mean, anyone can say anything they like, but...

Oh, and what constitutes an "absolute statement"? I'm not asking for specific examples of absolute statements, more for a guideline for determining what qualifies. You know... a definition.

We know that the Universe has not been here forever. We must therefore conclude that before time, space and matter existed, nothing existed. However to say that nothing exists is a paradox, it is impossible for nothing to "exist". Since we can all agree that it is impossible that nothing exists, what did exist before space time and matter?

It is not reasonable to conclude that a "primordial state" existed for eternity and then began expanding. Since eternity never ends the "primordial state" will not ever begin expansion.

What predates the "extremely hot and dense state of unknown characteristics"?

What hidden force began the great "cosmic inflation"?

What is the origin of that which predates a definable existence?

How do you suppose that this first atom changed from a static state that existed in an indefinable locality, into many various atoms existing in many various states and formed all the different elements and physics that make up reality?

Would you say that "PC" talk supports your beliefs, or just the opposite?

If you believe they are being supported, do you feel then that our country is representing you as an individual in general and not excluding you?

I had a physical a while back. Doc asked what my goals were, so I said to hang around long enough to see my grandkids. He said that my girl should be about out of school and my boy was about high school age, so that was reasonable. My lady pointed out that we have an 18 month old. He just said "Oh, OK" and went on with writing prescriptions. When she left the room he said "About seeing grandkids from that youngest boy? Don't hold your breath." I laughed in his face and pointed out that both he and the cardiologist gave me less than a year to live well over a decade ago. He said "Yeah, but back then I didn't know you were such a stubborn SOB!"
Have a good night and may tomorrow find you healthy and happy.

I live in Alaska, and just kept assuming I should face east. I checked a globe, however, and I think that the closest way to get to Jerusalem from Anchorage would be by going north. I remember from my non-Euclidean geometry class, that the shortest distance between any two points on a sphere is along the great circle. (I keep meaning to ask the Chabad rabbi, but he is difficult to reach.)

Evolutionists, I have a challenge for you. Can you show me(a link, a book, etc.) of any cooked Macaroni and Cheese prior to 4000 B.C? Show me any evidence of Macaroni and Cheese dating back longer than 4000 B.C. Show me any writings, recipes, ingredients, Utensils, countries that ate Macaroni and Cheese, ANY evidence of Macaroni and Cheese. I am under the impression that evolution is a big hoax, but if you can prove me wrong, then I will embrace evolution. And I don't mean showing me a piece of Pasta or cooking jug you claim is 20,000 years old. Show me any recorded Macaroni and Cheese history, if you can.

its easy for us to say that SOME not all but SOME christians are illogical for claiming to KNOW god exists when they have no proof. we ask "how do you know he exists?"

but arent we also illogical for claiming he doesnt exist when we have no proof ourselves? I mean some of us although not all, claim to KNOW god doesnt exist.

and doesnt it take faith from both sides to believe he does or doesnt exist? so shouldnt we stop claiming that he doesnt exist when we dont KNOW he doesnt and only BELIEVE he doesnt exist?

a nurse once told me that on sevral occasions the patients (usually pretty young, but not always) would die during a heat attack, car crash, and they would see a light and see GOD and HE would ask them, "Do you want to go to Heaven or go back to Earth?" and obviuolsy they responded " I would like to go back to Earth, " and then say something like " my family still needs me" or " i still feel like i have more life to live" etc. and HE would send them back into their bodies and they would be revived. ( the time they spent talking to GOD was spent doing CPR)

At least us atheists had a chance when it comes to accepting Jesus(not really a fair one cause we dont get the proof we want but regardless), but what about other people from other religions who have never heard of Jesus?

How are they supposed to know they're worshipping a "false god"?(As if the christian god has been proven to exist). I dont get why would god send them to hell if they never heard of Jesus? Us atheists just dont believe it, but what about them? I dont see why they should go to hell if they never heard of the christian god or Jesus.

From a historical stand-point. Even if you don't believe in the Bible and fully support the seperation of church and state (that is where I side, by the way), isn't it the same thing as censoring history to remove a part of an historical building that was there with its initial construction?

Simple solution should be to just not put them in any new court houses that are constructed, in my opinion.

When I have bad dreams about the devil I try calling for god. but he never comes and I wake up cry and scared. before I got married I would always sleep with the lights on so I would not have bad dreams and be scared. What have I done to see the devil and not the lord. I am not a evil person.

Or His Son who died so that man (and YOU) may not perish but have eternal life?
God created mankind and gave them free will. Unfortunately we (Adam and Eve) rebelled. God gave commanments to show us how we should live and yet we still cannot obey Him. He created sin offerings that we may be at one with Him and still, man used this as an excuse to sin and be forgiven. God sent His beloved Son to teach us how to live, Jesus walked a pefect life always putting others first, just like we should. Have you ever thought about how this would impact the entire world? Jesus gave His life, so that all those who believe in Him would have eternal life. We are required to worship Him, He loves His children and yet so frequently we ignore Him. Our earthly Fathers don't expect this. I pray you will read this and trust Him, find a spirit filled church who's emphasis is in teaching the bible and living under it's authority. They are there, if you seek you will find. God be with YOU. xx

if so, how and why? isn't good and evil just a concept or construct formed by the human mind to decide whether or not something is good or bad for the species? killing hurts the human population, thus seeming evil. helping the poor seems good, because it helps humans prosper and reproduce. good and evil are bound into us to keep us from destroying ourselves. but if you look outside of the human perspective, you can see that good and evil are nothing but animal instincts. when you detach yourself from human views, you can finally see the truth. good and evil don't really exist.

The human race is intensely interested and indeed even devoted to creating, playing and listening to music. What kind of evolutionary benefit is behind this love of music?

I'm reading Daniel Dennett's book "Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon", and he's brought up this same question. I haven't come upon his explanation yet, so I thought I'd pose it to Y!A users.
