"Deep down, you know you believe"

"All people believe in god but you are one of the many who don't know it"

So by your logic if I were a trustworthy fellow and I were to tell you that there was a invisible dragon living in my garage that only I could see, then you'd believe me?

What if I sweetened the deal by telling you that the dragon would burn you alive if you didn't present him with a tribute of a porterhouse steak. Would you bring the steak just in case? Or would you think I was a complete nutjob?

And then what if all my friends told you the same thing and they'd bring offerings of steak to the great invisible dragon. All but one who's house happened to burn down that evening and everybody said it was the dragon that caused this because the guy didn't believe. Would you follow the dragon then or would you demand proof that this dragon existed?

It's hard to pick two. They are mostly equal. I would say one of my favorite tricks is when someone makes a satement regarding science and provides a link to a Creationist website (obviously then accusing me of being closed-minded/scared when I don't visit and thoroughly research the site), and then they follow that with a list of degrees they have.

Edit: I just thought of a couple:
A real atheist would not come to this section, therefore you're not a real atheist.
You just want to be your own god.

I just think it's funny that people think it makes a difference when they try to refute me. I respect your beliefs. End of story. No, really, there's no need for discussion here. I'm not going to change my beliefs, and I'm perfectly ok with you not changing yours. Honest. No, really, I'm being honest. I swear, we really don't have to believe the same thing. Ok, geez, I give up.

That the dinosaur fossils and bones found were planted there by the devil to make people believe in evolution!

Obviously, a discussion about evolution as a product of something else and not God....and the person went nuts and said it was all planted by the devil and dinosaurs were not real.

I actually heard this from an atheist, and I found it so funny, that even though I am an atheist, I'm going to post it here-

"I don't believe in Hell, so how could I go there?"

I began laughing and turned to them and said, "What if you didn't believe in Arizona? It still exists, and you could still go there!"

Then we all started laughing, even the person I just mocked. I gave them some better arguments, too!

"If you were really an atheist, you'd probably kill your child and screw guys for drugs since atheists obviously don't have any morals... but since you don't kill your child and you don't screw guys for drugs, you're moral and so you must secretly know that God expects you to be a good person"

"You're just going through a phase. You'll believe in God one day because everyone does eventually"

That the complexity of the universe is proof of the existence of god.
Because a calender wasn't made 6000 years ago, it has to be the beginning of time.

Any creationist claim. The second is to use Bible prophecy fulfilled in the Bible as proof that the Bible is true. The third is Islam trying to say that it is scientific.

1. Deny God has power to change people
2. Continued harassments to investigate my own personal life.

Used to be in organized crime and "roamed" around with the same. About 32 years ago the "Lord" in heaven "changed" me and have always lived on the "right" side of the law. Many refuse to accept it, as they think it is all just a ploy to hide the fact that I am a "criminal." To this day, I am subject to invasions of my privacy, and am persecuted by persons who make false accusation trying to get me in trouble with the law. Despite all this, I have never given up my faith nor given in to these ignorant persons who know nothing about God's GRACE.

nothing has really been said to me about being atheist, but some dumb things i've heard are..

"i don't believe in god because he took my baby." -a friend's family member who had a miscarriage.

"you listen to marilyn manson? you're a devil-worshiper!" -ex boyfriend
