I am an associate pastor in a slum area church. I joined the ministry in June last year. Before I joined the ministry, a pastor friend called me from my hometown and told me to be careful with the pastor am joining because he is a known immoral person. I have since received information from various church members concerning his sexual behavior but I always pray and keep the information to myself.

We had a Church Board meeting yesterday in which our pastor suggested we build a small house in the church compound to accommodate a young sister who lost her husband last year. The late husband was a senior deacon of the church. We agreed but when I mentioned it to my wife, she told me that she had received information that our pastor is not only having an affair with the sister, but also her younger sister whom they are staying together. This latest information has shocked me a lot because, besides the sister being a key leader in our worship team, she is also a needy person whom I feel if it is so; the pastor is just taking advantage of her vulnerability.

I am now very confused. What do I do?

I think it was Friday...?
(I live right by a really really big temple. All the Indians who live in my complex go there - I'm not sure of the religion and I don't want to assume...)
anyways, there was a super HUGE celebration with fireworks and it was obviously a really important day for that religion. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was.

I was thinking about this question because I think some people just don't see God as even a possiblity of existing. Why does God ask us to have faith? Couldn't we just choose Him after he made clear He is God and whatever else we didn't understand? I see an advantage in ignorance since you cannot be blamed for what you don't know. But I don't think this entirely answers the question. What is the dead-on answer, if there is any? Thanks for the thoughts. If you have sources, please let me know.

Is prayer an Illusion? Do you believe that the only answers for an prayer is "Yes, No or Wait"? Do you believe that God really exists? If he exists, why is there a illusion that he is imaginary? What is your opinionated perspective on this?

some people think that they have perfect freedom in religion. well, if they do not accept some religion, they will have to accept some other religion or some other way of thinking. even their own religion have some dogmas that they have to accept. in any case you will have to accept some rules, there is not religion without rules.
so, in any case, we are not free to think and do exactly what we like without accepting any rule.

I was thinking about this the other day.

All the 'important' people in the bible, have what I think of american and/or english names. Mathew, Mark, Luke, JOHN,MARY.

I even think of Jesus as a 20th century name.

Most of the othe people in the bible have names that I can not pronounce. Names with 7 8 or 9 letters. Names that I think of as (forgive the term) Arabic..

I also do not see that many people now a days over where Jesus came from with names even close to those, (john,mary, Mathew). And such.

If it was because the bible was translated into english then why not translated ALL the names..?
