Why do Protestant Evangelicals turn worship of God into a study hall with binders and pens in tow taking notation as the preacher in front of them speaks? Am I merely confused about their version of worship or is this the actual worship they consider valid? How much of the service is spent in prayer?

explain to me why the lack of solemnity and reverence please.
explain the required note taking.
explain the prerequisite of carrying a 600 page bible to church every Sunday.

I have several pictures in my office, and a poster with the Three Stooges entitled "Golf With Your Friends". Those are the only dead people pictured in my office, everyone else is current immediate family who are alive.

What about you?

And statues or any other type of depiction count. Do you have a bust of your rich uncle Wacko who left you a huge inheritance?? Or maybe a crucifix??

Suppose it is God's Will that the cancer should go in remission. Suppose no one, absolutely no one, prays for my brother. Will his cancer go into remission?

If you answer no, (the cancer will stay) explain how a lack of prayer will stop God's plan. If you answer yes (the cancer will go away) then explain to me why prayer matters at all.

Consider Science. Science is method of obtaining knowledge about the natural world and an effort to explain various natural phenomena. So when presented with a question like, "How did humans get here?" Science uses natural evidence. It examines the human speices and other speices, fossils, etc etc. It uses various tools and various laws of nature to give us a natural answer to the question.

Science is dependent on this mechanism we call nature. Science is based on a premise that everything can be explained through natural means. Nature is orderly and nature has laws. So, my question is, how did this mechanism of Nature get here?

Three possibilities:
1. "I don't know."
2. Beyond our known nature: Mutiple Universes
3. Beyond our known nature: A supernatural
entity or force

Is there reason to believe that the Catholic church was some sort of organized pedophile group, such as nambla, for example? FYI: the US had the least reported clergy sex abuse cases when compared to the rest of the globe, therefore, this doesn't seems to be coincidence. Either way, I think the Catholic church is despicable and deceiving (I can say that I was raised Catholic but am now atheist).

I really don't know if there's a god or not, and I don't think that anyone will ever be able to 100% dis/prove it. but a great part of me don't believe in god(90%),I really like the idea that we only live once,to feel nothing after we die.but I was born into a religous family and studied in a religous school and sometimes I get scared to think that there might be a place like hell....it worries me so much.what should I do?should I just believe in god and live my life?

This question has plagued my mind for years, I know this all these luke - warm christians, that are completely not doing what the bible says, and every time i see them new great things happen to them!

My prayers almost never get answered, I haven't broken a commandment (10 commandments ) In i don't know how long....Ive read the bible at least 6 times now....pray every night, but nothing....

I use to get all my prayers answered its weird, but ever since I got baptized and became super holy - nothing but persecution.

My life got real bad in the summer, and this certain person was on my back,so i turned Satan, since God wasn't helping and simply told him to get them off my back...then i heard they broke out in puss hives and was in the hospital for 2 weeks after i said that, off of a serious infection ( i thought of how job was attacked by the devil ) I learned my lesson...

Anybody ever went through this? Nothing Answered ?

When I was a child of a Roman Catholic, I was taught that I should always do "God's will." However, I was also informed that I possessed a great gift from God: Free will. How do Christians exercise free will if doing so would contradict the will of God?

(I have been a Roman Catholic apostate for a long time now. A "non-believer," if you please).
