HOW did they go about dating these metal figurines? They can not! Then how did they come up with the date given in the article? Very likely they assumed the theory of uniformity, they noted the soil layer from which it was excavated and base the date on its position in relation to other layers. This dating method like other dating methods are based on layers of assumptions. The problem here is that you found an article, accept it as fact and don't question it because you have a pre-conception that the Bible is in error.
Soil layers have been observed to occur quickly under catastrophic events. Christians do not assume the theory of uniformity - and take in for consideration the worldwide flood and the dividing of the continents as catastrophic events of the past.
