The Catholic faith is so much deeper than many Christians believe. Why waste your energy picking on religions you don't understand? Jesus spoke of love--not overanalyzing details that make up a religion. Until you take theological courses in my faith, please, don't go out of your way to persecute it. It hurts to see people being so judgmental. God is the only one who has it figured out. If I believe in Him with my whole heart and soul, and being Catholic is the way I choose to worship, why is that wrong?

The Gregorian calendar (named after Pope Gregory) is based on the Roman Julian calendar which came from the Chaldeans of Egypt who brought it from Babylon.

It was based on the worship of the SUN, hence SUNday.

The ancient Hebrew calendar out of Egypt used the Sun and the Moon in position to the 12 constellations. The Sun would enter a constellation and when the moon's new light was FIRST SIGHTED (the actual New Moon), the month (from the word moon) or "New Moon" would begin.

The New Year out of Egypt was in the month of Abib which began in the constellation of ARIES the LAMB. Joseph foresaw this way of keeping sacred time in his dream where his father (representing the sun) and his mother (representing the moon) and his 11 siblings all bowed down to him who represented the lamb at that time (which also foretold of all scripture referring to THE Lamb...Messiah).

DANIEL 7:25
"...'he' shall attempt to change sacred seasons and the law...."

I know that they have the same leader, the pope, and I know that the Eastern Rites are Rites of the Catholic church that broke off from the Orthodox church, so they would be united under Papal Authority. But are the Eastern Catholic Churches Roman Churches, or is that just the Western Rite churches that are Roman Churches? Why do some people say that Eastern Rite Catholics are Orthodox, If they have Papal Authority?

As a Christian I remember feeling very influenced by others to believe as I did. In fact I looked for others that believed what I wanted to believe so that I could validate my own beliefs.

I'm now an atheist, and the journey here was deeply personal, and I do not feel that it was influenced much by others. Rather, I had to find the courage deep within myself to face questions that I avoided my entire life because they scared me.

Your thoughts?

is Christianity comprised of Bible-fundies only?

whenever I ask ask questions to Bible-fundies or concerning them, I only meant to ask Bible-fundies and not Christianity as a whole!

not all Christian sects are Bible-fundies, so what's wrong with the term "Bible fundies" if one uses the term to differentiate them from other Christian sects?

If I wrote a really long, detailed book about my beliefs and what "god has said to me" and entombed it somewhere.. Do you think when people find it, they will believe and teach my book??

I have finally been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of teaching my parents the new member discussions! Woo!

The question I have is as follows:

My parents have agreed to read the Book of Mormon but due to being devoted grandparents find very little time at home to sit and read. I have recommended that for now they concentrate on the chapter summaries as they encapsulate perfectly what the book is about.

Do you think this is a suitable precursor for the discussions? I am reading through Preach my Gospel to ready myself for sitting with them and the missionaries so hopefully they will accept with all their hearts.

I am in a great mood. The sun is shining ever so
brightly, and the leaves on the trees are falling to the
ground. But the colors are so beautiful in the Fall.
Does this season bring hope, and joy. Do you know?
The holidays are here, and this is a time to gather up
with your loved ones, and enjoy the remainder of the
year. So Thanksgiving is almost here, and we should
all give thanks. Due to the fact that there is so much
going on in the world, now. But there is a light at the
end of the tunnel. And I send my best of wishes to each
and everyone of you, here at Yahoo. Love to all. How are
you feeling today ? Best answer wins. *

Here's the case...

In front of you, there's a little 8-year old cute girl. She's very sick and she barely can open her eyes. Her parents are begging, crying and praying for months that God would heal her. You know you can heal her because you have the power, but you have to make a human sacrifice. You neighbor is happen to be an ex-criminal, who killed your best friend ten years ago. You know you can use him as the human sacrifice to heal that girl.

What would you do?

Don't answer yet.

Here's another case...

Your son/daughter is lying in hospital's bed right now. You must save him/her tonight. If you wait a little longer, he/she will die. You love him/her so much you'd trade your own life. The only sacrifice available is your doctor who just saved your life months ago from a terrible car accident. He's probably the best doctor in the city because everyone recognize his reputation.

Would you kill someone to heal someone else?

Note: You can't sacrifice yourself.
