Fear of the unknown is the most powerful form of fear, also the one that makes the best horror movies so good.

As a twist to this question I fear things I can't CONTROL more than anything else. For example, my situation with my soon to be ex husband and my new baby. I am afraid he will try to take control and this keeps me awake at night.
But as others have said, knowledge is power and I can console myself by doing lots of reading and research on the internet.

Neither for me. I read the Bible and know that what I do not understand is not to be feared. Read the Palms about the Shepherd:
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want...
Yea, though I walk ...
You can look it up for yourself (if you are not too afraid to). 8:)
To the soon to be ex-wife with a newborn. I understand and I and I hope others will keep you in their prayers.

We only fear that which we don't understand. Understanding is the key to killing fear.

I think we fear the unknown more than anything. That is why we are uncomfortable in literal darkness. It is scary to not be able to see where you are going or if anything dangerous is near you.
Having knowledge is what dissipates the fear.
