I have read many answers to questions where many atheist express that just because they are atheist does not mean they have to be an expert in science, even though they put their trust in it. They believe in scientific discoveries and theories, even if they really don't understand them...is this correct?

It seems pointless to try to argue faith matters when you take away the rules the govern argumentation.

It seems as though some believers tend to think that atheists live a life without hope or comfort or peace.

Personally, I take comfort in knowing I am no longer deluding myself.

Do you need more proof of evolution? How about the bible book of Genesis? It is a two-part creation that resembles evolution. In Genesis God created animals from out of the waters: Fish, everything in the sea, and birds...

And God created great sea-animals, and every living soul that creeps with which the waters swarmed after their kind; and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
(Gen 1:21)

Then he had a land-based creation:

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth after its kind; and it was so.
(Gen 1:24)

God gives you at least two examples of creation in your bible.

God said he made things, he did not say how.

Ok, personally, I am sick to death of EVERYTHING that has been said here about it.... But I am a JW and I will never take blood....I ask you to google bloodless surgery. Why don't you? Afraid of what you will find? We are not weirdos for doing what we do. We have religious beliefs and our beliefs are found from the Bible. Speak to ANY JW in the world and we can explain them to you. Yes, it is a VERY sad time when someone dies from ANYTHING that happens. I don't know the family personally that lost the mother, but I do know their beliefs and we are a united family and I know he feels good that he did not go against what Jehovah told him in the Bible. Pls, I urge you instead of bashing us, speak to us and find out WHY we don't. There are PLENTY of Non - JWs that chose to have bloodless surgerys also. http://www.noblood.org/news-hot-topics-such-hepatitis-c-sars-aids/1896-infant-has-bloodless-surgery.html

If you had a chose of a bloodless surgery, would you do it?

Why didn't God just give Moses the 10 Commandments of a piece of papayrus or birchbark--something a bit easier on an old man's back than those massive hunks of stone?

I posted a similar thing yesterday, under the assumption that everyone already knew this. But people thought I was full of it. Fact is, even the evangelicals are aware that the numbers of American believers is gradually decreasing, even though their voice is just as loud as ever.

Each generation has more atheists and agnostics than the one before. percentages are of atheists/agnostics:

Age 18-22 19%
Age 23-41 14%
Age 42-60 9%
Age 61+ 6%

"The study shows that 16- to 29-year-olds exhibit a greater degree of criticism toward Christianity than did previous generations when they were at the same stage of life."

Even though Christians are in the majority, these people who call themselves "Christians" have a very watered down version from what their grandparents did. It gets more watered down every generation.

Creationists assert a young earth of approximately 5,800 years give or take a few years. How come we have galaxies millions of light years away? Shouldn't they only be about six thousand light years away or less?

There are quite a few religions on Earth and few that claim to be "The" religion. I personally find it hard to comprehend that there is more than one "True" religion. Shouldn't it be obvious to ALL of mankind what the Truth is?

This principal is one reason I chose to seek answers elsewhere, mainly in science.
