It seems as though some believers tend to think that atheists live a life without hope or comfort or peace.
Personally, I take comfort in knowing I am no longer deluding myself.

Hope, how can you say that what I find comforting is pathetic? That is very rude. You don't know anything about my life or what brought me to atheism, so how can you say that?

And no, this isn't the ONLY thing that brings me comfort. It is one of many things.

Nice food, music, movies, sports that I enjoy, women, trustworthy friends, seeing the sights, learning about things and about myself etc. etc.
There's not all that much time in a human life, really and there are a lot of things to experience. Odds are you'll miss out on a lot but that's ok.
I'm going to die one day and that doesn't bother me too much. It happens to everything, so I try not to take it too personally. I hope it's a quick, painless death when it comes but even if it's slow and painful it will stop one day.
After that maybe we're talking about oblivion but it's not a scary fate because once you're there you neither feel, nor think, nor care. I'm not sure, personally. It seems to me that the idea of a soul is nonsensical but I think it's possible that time itself is cylical, so you could live this life over and over again and never know it.
Whatever the case, if you make the most of life while you're here you can't go far wrong. Besides, in the event that there is/are a God or gods you would hope they would be mature enough not to take disbelief in them personally. After all, if you're not godlike enough to be good to all your creations, or even let them know what's going on, you're not really worthy of the title anyway.
I think the Bill and Ted slogan "be excellent to each other" is a good enough moral logic, and you can obviously extend the idea to wider nature. If you try and live by that (and we all have our bad days because we're human) then that's good enough. It is for me anyway.

I find comfort in the love I share with friends and family and pets. In my relationship with nature, and things beautiful. No, but honestly, these days I don't find much comfort in anything. This doesn't have anything to do with my being an atheist though, and everything to do with the fact that I am depressed.

Why might it make me uncomfortable? think of approximately it... atheism is turning out to be in the main secure international places. it somewhat is not magnificent via fact anybody is egotistical and often in ordinary terms pray while they are in hassle. Atheism is turning out to be in international places with intense educations and smart human beings... returned, anybody is egotistical and think of they surely be attentive to each little thing in the event that they get a level. BTW the atom isn't the smallest component and pluto isn't a planet. extra often than no longer atheism is turning out to be... yea i'm advantageous with that. I knew the international might replace into worse till now the "end situations" or end of the international, the Bible says so. it is unhappy, nonetheless. The video additionally reported atheists are happy or something. Why do you may desire to discover convenience and experience extra suitable from this youtube video then? BTW you sound form of twisted. Taunting human beings, asking if we are uncomfortable. Sounds form of demonic, and regrettably there's a solid reason for that. solid success chum. (i individually propose that i'm no longer antagonizing you.)

I think that even without religious affiliation or a belief in a higher power it is possible for some to find inner peace and that is always comforting. Many things can bring you that feeling of serenity - whether its coming to terms with your beliefs or lack thereof, coming to terms with who you are, finding beauty around you in all forms... or whatever. It can all be comforting.

I find comfort in my bed after a long day of living my life, I take a shower, and hit that big old bed.
I find comfort after a nice meal, by sitting in an easy chair and listening to Beethoven's 9th symphony (all four movements).
There are many things I find comfort in.
See, unlike christians who are concerned with life after death, I am concerned with life before death.

Where is the comfort for one who believes a non-virgin child bride should be stoned to death, because their holy book says so?

Away with the ties that bind me from knowledge. The feeling that I learned something new from someone without prejudice or bigotry.
Religion limits the man so much, we're slaves only to our own fear and delusions. Like the kid who's afraid of the dark, but once we know there's nothing in the dark we fear no more.

from one atheist to another, is that really the only thing that brings you comfort? Telling others theyre delusional, maybe misinformed or brainwashed, but I would not say delusional.
I get comfort from bacon & eggs
