Why didn't God just give Moses the 10 Commandments of a piece of papayrus or birchbark--something a bit easier on an old man's back than those massive hunks of stone?

It wouldn't have been as dramatic if he crumpled up a wad of papyrus and chucked it at that golden calf.

God wanted to give him the commandments in cast iron, but he realized Moses might have a bit of trouble lugging that down the hill, and the angel who was supposed to help him lug it was in time-out for his part in the existence of the platypus.

God's human beings, the Jews, had no longer bothered to watch for Moses to return down from the mountain after his assembly with our lord god on the mountain and that they proceeded to soften down gold and silver to make a minimum of one golden calf. This calf they then proceeded to bow down and worship and their replaced into it variety of feels some a number of orgy taking place. all of the issues that God would actual no longer desire them to be doing - and that they have got been attentive to this. that's scarcely impressive that Moses replaced into so disgusted at their dreadful behaviour that he broke those stone pills with the ten commandments written on them. yet our lord god isn't mocked and an incredible variety of have been condemned for this. Later the LORD wrote on a sparkling set of stones so as that they and us haven't any excuses for Godless behaviour.
