how would i try to make my athiest friend turn to islam if we are only in middle school? i want advice muslms!

i also want advice on turning my christian friend, he has been having doubts about christianity, and i think he might want to convert. remeber, we are only in the 8th grade! im thinking about talking to my friend about the relations between islam and christianity, and this hopefuly will help him convert.

The first step would be to be a good friend and a good student. Be a role model in and out of school. Try very hard to do everything right.

Another step is to listen. Many times we are so eager to tell people what we know they need to know that we don't pay attention to their attempts to find out what they know they need to know.

If there are Muslim youth events in your area, you might invite him to one, so that he can meet a few Muslims.

If possible, invite him over for dinner.

When he asks questions about Islam, answer. If you don't know the answer, tell him you don't know, and then find out for him.

Insha'Allah, he will gradually become more interested, but even if he doesn't, having known you may help him to find his way later on.

I first met a Muslim when I was in college. He was the only Muslim I had ever known, and all he did for me, religiously, was to politely contrast my beliefs with his. I actually accepted Islam nine years later, but he was the one who got me interested in the subject to begin with, alhamdulillah.

Remember, you get thawab (a reward) for your intention, and more thawab for trying. The rest is up to Allah.

This is not for you to do. You should not try to make someone do anything. You can tell him about Islam and that is only if he wants to listen. Do not force Islam on him. Allah(SWT) shows those he wants the truth. It is up to him to decide if he wants to accept Islam. This is the biggest problem with religion, that every one feels compelled to convert every one else.

Be happy in your beliefs and allow your friend to be happy in his.

Remember this though... you trying to convert him to Islam gives him every right and reason to try to educate you away from religion and into the realm of atheism. One thing I do know for sure... atheists won't send out hit squads and put a price on your head if you suddenly have a change of heart and want to follow a different 'religion' You leaving Islam is a sin punishable by death and there are those who would kill you just for that.

This question is an example of religion at its worst. People are killed every day because they won't 'convert' to the beliefs of those more powerful, and yet, those beliefs are supposed to be compassionate, loving and tolerant. I'm an Atheist because of people like you and those who've answered your call for help.

OK, first of all, you can't MAKE anyone believe something they don't want to. Have you considered that your atheist friend is perfectly happy with his/her beliefs? Go ahead and talk to you friends but don't expect them to convert. And pushing religion down someone's throat is one way to make them hesitant to listen to you. Just realize that your religion may be the best in your eyes but not others.

Don't bother. Pushing him will only drive him away as a friend. He needs to make his own descisions, based on his own feelings.

Gee, how about respecting him and living in a way that is exemplary?

And praying to your God about it rather than bothering him. Trying to convert people is not only rude, but disrespectful. You're no friend if you can't accept him as he is.
