In the verses below we are told scripture can perfect us for every good work. So we can be prepared for every good work by scripture. Not some good works but every good work. So if the Bible can prepare us for every good work why do we need more? And before you say this was written before the NT was finished or the Bible compiled. Remember God is omnipotent and omniscient. He knew the Bible would be compiled and what would be in it. Thus when He inspired this verse He knew we would have the Bible and apply it to it. So my question is if the Bible equips us for every good work as it says it does why do we need more?

2Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

just as physicists have determined the half lives of all the elements, can we assume there's is such a thing as a millionth life for each element as well? and would that mean that 500,000 millionth lives is equal to that of one half life? certainly, it would be much easier to measure a millionth life for an element whose half life is on the order of millions of years.

What Hitler did (quickly) to the Jews, God promises to do to most of us for all eternity.

So how is God not evil?

My friend and his family (wife and 2 daughters) flew to Mexico for a holiday. On the trip back, the plane experienced some sort of shut down and the turbulence was so bad the plane dropped as in free-fall for nearly one minute... My friend said everyone on the plane was screaming and the flight attendants looked "terrified". Eventually the plane got back to normal and they landed safely.

Now my friend and his family are VERY religious people...

Anyway, upon telling us the storey, my friend said after they landed and were in the airport his younger daughter told him the plane was saved by God. Because God did not want them to die... My friend was rather proud to share that part with us...

I told my friend: So God saved your plane (200 - 300 lives), but the same God let a million innocent die in Rowanda... what kind of God would do that??? My friend could not come up with any reply...

Anyway this is the kind of BS blind, gullible, believers, believe in....!

I am making a film about a preist and Catholiscism. I dont believe in God and i really dont believe in organized religion. But i have met so many good people trying to help others within religious circles i feel compeled to write about it. Im interested in the imagery of religion and how people use it in the context of the modern world.
Im scared to write it incase i slate religion by accident. can people give me some thoughts on these questions:
(please dont preach to me - you wont change my personal beleifs)

1. if you believe in God (christian)
what good is it to modern society? Do you genuinly think praying is as powerful as physically helping someone?

2. if you dont believe_
is there anything wrong with beleiving in God? Do you think there is anyway religion could help modern society?

Here are mine.
The Bible has over 1000 prophesies 668 of them have come to pass so far.
No anthropoligists, chemists, historian ect ect can dispute thease facts.
Many here have ask "where is the proff" of God.
I would not expect a person "Looking for the Truth" to take my word for it. I do however expect that if you ARE seeking the truth you will do the same research I did in order to bring you thease facts. NO other religion can say anything close to this about its teachings, and still being telling the truth.
My starting point ICR.COM. Two hours and you will know the truth too!

If evolution is false (as creationists claim) where is the intelligence in creating the rudiments of legs in a marine mammal, which then disappear as the embryo matures?

But wait... they don't always disappear!

Modern cetaceans not only have pelvic bones, but some species also have femurs (that's the big bone in your thigh), while still others have a remnant pelvis, femur and TIBIA as well! Some such remnants on rare occasions even buldge or protrude from the cetacean's body! For photos just google: Cetacean Evolution.

One species, the Right Whale, features remnants of femurs, tibias AND the synovial capsules around the joints connecting them to one another, exactly what one would expect to find if they were the remnants of hind-limbs.

Your god INTELLIGENTLY designed these animals to have the remnants of hind legs? What was the reason? Please explain this to me, because all I see is a warm blooded, air breathing land creature that returned to living in the sea.

parent and friends can stand a baby up and maybe try to hold it's hand to help it learn to walk, but when the baby's hand is let go,the child must ultimately decide to move it's legs and feet to walk or if it's just gonna fall back down to the ground and continue to crawl at best.
So also while theist can teach and tell atheist and agnostics about God,Satan, heaven, hell, prayer ect ect. we cant hold there hands all the time and it ultimately falls on the individual to decide to have faith and excercise their spirit or not have faith and go back to the sin dominated life and acheive moderate success compared to what they could have If they would of trusted and God and been obedient.

Agree or disagree?Good analogy or bad analogy? Why or why not?
