He did this specifically to prepare you for the mate that he has in store for you. Mainly so that you will appreciate him.

I'll bet a lot of children in CPS casefiles would like to know the answer to that, too.
More correctly, why do some men choose to be such heartless jerks?

God didn't create people that way; He gave people the free will to choose how they will live. Here's my explanation for WHY God gave mankind free will:
God created mankind so that He would have someone to love and to love Him back. To be truly loved, the person doing the loving needs have to have free will (in other words, they have the the choice to love you back or to to reject you). Thus, God gave us that free will. However, the fact that people have free will means that they may very well chose to be, as you accurately put it, "big heartless jerks".
Its like when a couple decides to have a child, or when two people decide to marry. You are making a commitment to a person, a commitment that is not easily broken (per say), knowing full well that that person will hurt you at times, and could possibly abandon you altogether. But still you chose to enter into that relationship regardless of that fear because the price of hurt is nothing compared to the joy of loving and being loved.

He didn't. It's the guys who think they "are" gods who make themselves into heartless jerks. Also guys who think they will not have to answer for the things they do.
God loves you and has a man who is right for you...the only problem is that people don't like to wait for the right one, and then they settle for the heartless jerk that God tried to warn them to avoid.

He did not make them heartless jerks the world did,the things they were taught and what thy have gone thru and what they have seen can make them heartless jerks

He didn't Cindy, He just gave them the power of choice. We all have free will to choose. Maybe its time to use your free will and choose to get away from the jerks in your life!

that was not God. that was the devil... when man ate out of the tree of knowledge, man was given the opportunity to choose their actions... if man does not live by God's word, then man falls for the devil... the DEVIL makes men be heartless jerks, not God... :)

Evolution did it. We have remnants of aggression, dominance and a need for recognition by other men still overpowering our capacity for logic.
