I really want to believe but I just can't. I'm trying but I don't know how. I follow the teachings of the bible. It seems to me that most christians have that defining point in their life that made them realize what they were doing was wrong and then truely accept Jesus so that they can be forgiven for there sins. The problem is I don't. I've been goody goody my whole life. I not trying to sound all high and mighty but I just don't think I have any sins to be forgiven for beside the ones I inherited when I was born because of adam and eve. And when i tried to ask for forgiveness for those I don't know how to ask for forgiven for sin I don't really understand how I recieved them.

Reading verse 5-6 it clearly explaings that to be born of water is to be born flesh & born from above is to be born spiritual. (foundational)
vrse 8 that it is hard to see with human eyes who is born of the Spirit.
That Jesus, the Son of Man (humanity), had to be lifted up like the serpent was lifted for Moses (because of mans sin).. And whosoever believes in Him willl not perish but have eternal life. (Believing that Jesus in His humanity shed His blood for remission of mankind's sins.) (Foundational)

Both verse 15+16 say that believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (double emphasis).

That who is condemn is he who doesn't believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. (It is Foundational to believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God).

That the condemnation is the light came to us & men loved darknes more than light because their deeds were evil. Evil doers hate & avoid the light.

And that over 4/5 of the population is Christian?

The U.S. was founded by Deists who wanted freedom of and from religion, because they already lived in a Christian country (UK) where those beliefs were shoved down their throats and they could be killed at any given time if the monarchy wished. That means they were not Christian, nor was the country founded on such principals. Why create history that never existed?

Also, just because someone says they are a Christian doesn't make it so.

What if all of these religions are wrong and it turns out that the Egyptians were right this whole time? Would anyone know where the hell they were in the afterlife?

(I would love to die at the same time as Billy Graham, be it the case. I just want to see the expression on his face.)

Theists, can you at LEAST give atheists enough respect to not say God is in everyone? We atheists do not have any god, much less whatever god you believe in, stamped in our hearts from birth. There is no belief instilled in us. We aren't denying your "truth". Can't you understand that? Even if this message is loving to you, it's still imposing your belief on others. What ever happened to fairness?

As christians, we are required our best to break any unGodly habits in our lives. What habits have you broken, and how did you overcome them?

This is more of an encouragement question for myself. I really enjoy hearing other christians stories of what God has done in their life.

..die today, where will you be ?

WHAT SAY YOU ALL? - Christian, Do You Know Frightening People with "Hell Fire" and "If you die today .....
..without Jesus, where will you go ? " is not scriptural and never can you find it in the Word of God.

Jesus came to promise us Life and Life more abundantly, Eternal life, immortality and life forevermore. Look through the scriptures, Jesus never says or tell people "if you die - you will go to heaven if you believed" BUT INSTEAD HE SAID, "IF YOU BELIEVES IN ME YOU SHALL NEVER DIE" Jesus came to give us life without dying and it's found all over in His teaching but your religious mind have blinded you to see the Truth.

All men will lives eternally after death is not a question. But where will they spend eternity is! However,Jesus came to tell us that we can be once again be restored to a Life without death, just like Adam before the Fall. Even the Apostle Paul knew that and he wrote, in Roman 8:1-3.Read it for yourselves!
Believers die no more!

did he even bother to question god after god asked him to kill his son isaac? i mean if god came up to any one of you and asked you to prove your love to him by killing one of your children, wouldn't you at least question him by saying something like, "but i thought you said murder was wrong, or thou shalt not kill. why do you want me to kill my children of all people?" or would you willingly attempt to kill your child with the hope that god will save your child just in the nick of time? i can't really say i'd chalk the story of isaac in the category of useful lessons learned in the bible. or perhaps the real lesson is you should always be willing to question god's authority. what do you think?

I have a possible explanation for Tyr's parental inconsistency.

He cant be the son of Both Odin and that one giant (im to lazy to look the name up) Well.... then again Heimdall was the son of 9 women....
Fostering a child was a common practice in northern europe. As such A giant with a human (Aesir) child would be likely to foster it to those who could raise it better after a certain age.

So I have a theory. Tyr was fostered to Odin early. (I say early to perserve Tiwhaz. and to put Tyr where he should be as far as his standing from his Myths.

Thus he retains his status as an Eldar God (Older then Thor and younger then Odin)

A full explanation for his parentage, and from here we can fill in some of the fragments left/ make new ones.
He is severely lacking in Myths for being the God of Justice and the God of warfare. Odin is specificly the God of Battles. Tyr is the God of campaigns and desperate stands. He needs more myths.

Why did God have to make everything that is bad for us so pleasurable? I mean what was the point? to torture people for what reason? Why cant cheesecake. ice cream, booze and sex be great for your health and egg white omelets and lettuce bad for you? What kind of person would do this to people?
I am not religious but I believe in God and I know I should not be questioning him/ her but WTF? It just pisses me off...

I went to a public school, and as part of the required summer reading before my AP English class, we had to read four books of the Bible

The reasoning behind this was that in the history of English literature, authors most commonly allude to three sources: Greek mythology, Shakespeare, and the Bible. We were required to read the four books and analyze them the same we did the mythological books and Shakespeare plays that we read. It was analyzed and applied as a piece of literature, not a holy book.

Do you think that is okay, since it's done objectively and related to the class? (Just reading a book by a Romantic or Victorian author you see how much these three things are referenced.) Or is it wrong to require the reading of the Bible and no other holy books from other religions because of the religious implications, even if they weren't taught?

The reason they are so mad cause they feel no one loves them. HEY>>>>>>ATHIEST we love you guy's ''man''' we just want you to be there with us on the other side. We know you don't get it the logic project. Just come to church and feel the joy don't feel the hate.

I know it's not cool knowing your gonna die forever but try to prove Gods existance than disprove.

Go ahead and hate us...I understand but i'll still care for all you Atheist cause I know you need a huge hug like my little daughter when she dosen't understand she gets mad and sometimes I just need to love her cause I care for her.

Go ahead and let your anger out.
