Reading verse 5-6 it clearly explaings that to be born of water is to be born flesh & born from above is to be born spiritual. (foundational)
vrse 8 that it is hard to see with human eyes who is born of the Spirit.
That Jesus, the Son of Man (humanity), had to be lifted up like the serpent was lifted for Moses (because of mans sin).. And whosoever believes in Him willl not perish but have eternal life. (Believing that Jesus in His humanity shed His blood for remission of mankind's sins.) (Foundational)
Both verse 15+16 say that believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (double emphasis).
That who is condemn is he who doesn't believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. (It is Foundational to believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God).
That the condemnation is the light came to us & men loved darknes more than light because their deeds were evil. Evil doers hate & avoid the light.

rac, Good answer. But to John, born of water means being born of moms water bag & being flesh. This is how Jews discern being born of water. You can ask Messianic Jews. The Catholic Church & mormons think that being born of water is water baptism. Water baptism was done to represtent the baptism of His death. The old man (sin nature) goes down & dies, the new man comes up (washed in His blood) a new spiritman in Christ Jesus.

Some Scripture are left open to the interpretation of the reader. When a verse seems to have more than one meaning to me, I look for other references. As far as Baptism goes, I think Scripture is very clear on this subject. Jesus answered this subject once and for all when He was hanging on that cross. The thief next to Him was never Baptized, never went to church, never prayed a prayer of repentance, he simply believed and Jesus promised that man that he would be in Paradise with Him, that day. Circumcision, Baptism and all other sacraments are simply rituals and they cannot assure us, or guarantee us salvation. God wants our minds and souls, not our flesh. The ritualistic things we do can never please Holy God. Only through belief in Christ Jesus and by a serious commitment to Him, can we please God.

The scriptures are not of private interpretation. That is the problem with most of the denominations today. They try to impose their own wisdom and learning onto the scriptures and as we have seen, multiple interpretations have insued. Thus, we should always seek inspiration from the Holy Ghost when reading the scriptures. Ask God, in the name of Christ, to enlighten our understanding, that we may know the correct interpretation of a particular passage. It is the function of the Holy Ghost to reveal truths to mankind and to testify of the Father and the Son via that revelation process.
As for John, born of the water means baptism by immersion. Baptism by fire means the reception of the Holy Ghost. Thus, our rebirth in Christ mirrors our physical birth via the amniotic fluid, the entrance of the spirit into the body and the blood of the birth process. Baptism, Holy Ghost and the sacrificial blood of Christ. All things have their symbolic representation.

These verses are not what Christians want to hear or believe. They want all the earth to believe, that one must believe in Jesus to enter into heaven, even though these very same Christians don't believe Jesus, it is just a way to make them seem righteous in the eyes of men, not God the Father.
These verse say exactly what they mean, there is not mystery in their words, it is because of the darkness in you that you can not see the light of truth.
Eternal is what the Jews believed.
Everlasting is what Jesus brought us.
Condemned is that from the very beginning.

My understanding is that the 1st followers of Jesus Christ formed the Church and carried on their journey and the classes to others and led others in a thank you to worship. do no longer misunderstand, i think of the Bible is of massive divine magnitude, yet i think of this is the residing custom this is likewise of divine magnitude. It became by using word of mouth, coaching, and community worship the place the traditions and the Church have been born. How do all of us understand which custom is "top?" i could say that that's maximum undiluted and unchanged. traditionally, the jap Orthodox seems to be the main unchanged (without important "additions" to the ideals, in simple terms how modern-day subject concerns would desire to be appeared upon in context of the Church). interior the earliest days of Christianity there have been various ideals (which includes gnosticism) yet that which might substitute into the jap Orthodox custom appears like the what became initially meant and all different denominations branched from this (examine background). The Bible, in my study/understanding, is to be lived and function the which ability understood however the interpretations would desire to be "guided" via the custom as this is the residing conduit of the actual teachings and, in reciprocity, the Bible would desire to lead the custom on course. there's a reason of the magnitude of apostolic succession... whether the classes at present are "top or incorrect," it may in basic terms upload to the integrity.

This is a simple reference to reincarnation.
Many christian sects believed in reincarnation till Paul came along and twisted the meaning of the scriptural references to it.
Do your homework and you will see what I am saying. Reincarnation belief was so prevalent that the roman church outlawed it and declared it heresy in the 4th century. It is just one of many of the things that Jesus taught that they decided to call heresy. They replaced the true meaning with spin that it was a reference to baptism. This misconception is still taught to this day.
