Do you think that all who proclaim to be Christians on R&S actually are?

I would suggest that you investigate some of their answers to other questions and even check out some of their questions.

Don't need to over-compensate?
Don't need to prove to the world?

What does that say about certain religious groups?
Though please keep in mind that directing at religious groups does not necessarily mean directing at religion itself. There's a fine distinction that many religious folks fail to realize or acknowledge.

Just like how religious groups are all up in other people's business, picketing and aggressively violating other people's privacy and space etc, such as at abortion clinics or gay & lesbian businesses etc, why not non-religious groups be all up in religious folks' face at their homes, churches, etc?! Protesting how they have contributed to many wars and deaths, child molestations, abusing those whom religious protestors have been attacking, etc.

Same goes for peta, why not non-peta groups be all up in peta's face like at their offices, centers, homes, work buildings etc?!

I have recently been reading a lot of quotes and texts related to Buddhism and I really like what it teaches, but I am not Buddhist, I am Christian. I do know that Buddha was a philosopher and not held in such high regards as an actual deity, but I also know that some people probably do think of him as a god and I don't want to start thinking that way so I've been trying to avoid getting too much into Buddhist teachings. Do any other Christians out there think that the connection between Christianity and Buddhism is very close in the way that Jesus and Buddha both teach peace and kindness to your fellow man, and if so, do you put to practice any Buddhist teachings?

If justice is the goal, but death penalty laws lead to infrequent execution of an innocent person, is the goal of a justice society still met? Does it make a difference to you if the innocent party is your friend or relative?

Is the death penalty's irreversibility so heinous as to make it unjust in all circumstances, simply because it assumes that we will always be correct in our verdicts?

Do you believe?
Why? What leads you to believe there is a God?
Where you taught that he was real when you were little?
Did you make your choice of religion or did your parent's affect it?

Thank you.

soul or spirit remaning to experience punishment, when Jesus is warns us in Luke 12:4-5:

" And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom shall ye fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath the power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him" ??

I mean this with all respect and hope for zero bashing.

I am a firm believer in God's promises, as found in the scriptures, that the pain and suffering we see today will end and a new order of peace and security will be ushered in. Mock it or not. That's your prerogative. I also am an avid follower of world events. Because of that, I sometimes wonder what gives those who do NOT believe in a higher power, hope that things will change...Hope that things will improve. Clearly nothing has worked until now.

This is not meant to insult or bash. I'm just wondering how you deal with ... well how you DEAL.

Between that and the Muslims blowing themselves up we'd be rid of religious fanatics once and for all.

I was at a church fellowship and was talking to someone who had two kids he looked very young to have to kids and I asked how old his kids were? In the back of my mind And I am not proud of this I thought maybe his wife was pregant before marraige it was not the case and I also asked how long they were married? I am not a gosipper but some times I am a little too nosy and instrustive for my own good I also asked how old is you son a second time I tend to repeat myself a lot. What is a good godly way as a christian not to be so nosey and just to mind my own affairs and my own business?
I dont think he knew how I felt but I feel the need to say sorry and apologizebecause my motives were wrong but I I do ask for forgiveness I will have to tell him why and that would be very embarrasing for me.
What are good ways to prevent from being nosy and instrusive and focus more on my business and not everyone elses?

If you know a little bit about the Bible, then you know that the Old Testament prophesied the coming of Jesus. Are there any places in the Bible where the book of Mormon or Joseph Smith as a prophet was foretold? Personally, I don't know of any instances, so I am just wondering if anyone out there knows of any.

Matthew 24:34 Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.

I, like many others, was taught that this verse indicated that the generation of 1914 would not die out before Armageddon. I clung to this belief, taking comfort in believing God was going to free us from pain and suffering within years, due to the fact that the elderly 1914 generation were almost all gone.

They now claim that 'generation' refers to 'a mind set' or 'set of events', therefore giving no possible time frame in which Armageddon may occur.

What do you think?

Be Sensitive

In order to get clear instruction from God, you must learn to be sensitive to the Spirit of God. God is tapping you on the shoulder and if you are too busy to listen you will miss what He’s saying. God is going to give you instruction and you must incline your ear to hear what the Spirit of God is saying. Change what you’re listening to and change who you’re talking to.
