I was at a church fellowship and was talking to someone who had two kids he looked very young to have to kids and I asked how old his kids were? In the back of my mind And I am not proud of this I thought maybe his wife was pregant before marraige it was not the case and I also asked how long they were married? I am not a gosipper but some times I am a little too nosy and instrustive for my own good I also asked how old is you son a second time I tend to repeat myself a lot. What is a good godly way as a christian not to be so nosey and just to mind my own affairs and my own business?
I dont think he knew how I felt but I feel the need to say sorry and apologizebecause my motives were wrong but I I do ask for forgiveness I will have to tell him why and that would be very embarrasing for me.
What are good ways to prevent from being nosy and instrusive and focus more on my business and not everyone elses?

Well it's normal to wonder those things, so just practice thinking before you speak and you'll be fine.

Also, aren't a lot of Christians converts? Maybe he did have them before marriage but is a Christian now. I know many Christians did things in the past they no longer do, so it's really not a big deal in the first place.

Oh, and don't embarrass him and make a big deal out of it- he's not the one that needs it if he didn't even notice. Just be kind to him.

i'm working on that too .. though i have gotten a lot better with *negative thinking* as I'll call it.

anytime you catch yourself doing that again .. noticing someone like him .. or any other situation .. start thinking of all the good.. notice how happy they both seem.. or that he really may be much older then he looks .. or even if he is a young father that doesn't mean isn't dedicated or a very good father.. There is no point in talking to him ...

i'm 24 years old .. and people say I look 14 - 18 all the time. A lady stopped me at the store the other day .. asking me if i was even old enough to drive. It was quite annoying.

You know that self-control you use to stop yourself going out to rape and pillage, and to murder small children?
It's the same self-control.
Other people's business is not your business.
The instance you related shows you went into the 'interview' with pre-conceived ideas – you sat in judgement before you received the answers.

God help the poor accused if you are ever on a jury.

Didn't your Jesus command that * 'you love one another' - I think he meant unconditionally cos I couldn't find any additional clauses afterwards.

Just fight the temptation and forget it---this is the sin living in us. We have been separated from the sin so we can leave it on the cross when we die but in the mean time it tries like anything to get us wound up with it again. It is like a bad boyfriend huh? He keeps coming around to mess with us. Just forget it and keep on trying to be good. When you have these thought just try to block them from your mind. They say resist the evil one and he will eventually leave---God Bless you.

The first step is to "know" you are nosey and in others business. Your half-way there!

Pray about it. The next time you start to ask too many questions the Lord will remind you about it.
