If you know a little bit about the Bible, then you know that the Old Testament prophesied the coming of Jesus. Are there any places in the Bible where the book of Mormon or Joseph Smith as a prophet was foretold? Personally, I don't know of any instances, so I am just wondering if anyone out there knows of any.

Isaiah 11: 1: "And there shall come forth a rod (Joseph Smith) out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots;

Isaiah 29: 11-12: "And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book (the Book of Mormon) that is sealed, which men deliver to one (Professor Charles Anthon of New York) that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray Thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed";

And the book (the Book of Mormon) is delivered to him (Joseph Smith) that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned."

Ezekiel 37: 16-20 refers to the Stick of Judah (the Bible) and the Stick of Ephraim (the Book of Mormon). They were called sticks because of the rolling of parchment on sticks that served to hold the written words of men. These sticks have nothing whatsover to mean the 12 tribes of Israel and their gathering--as many proclaim to interpret.

I believe that Joseph Smith was IN A WAY prophesied in the Bible. God said that anyone teaching another doctrine would be accursed. The Book of Mormon is completely different than the Bible. God said that many false prophets would arise and deceive many. To all the LDS people I hope you find the right path which is Jesus Christ. The one and the only way.

Yes, Joseph Smith was prophesied about. It's in Deuteronomy 18:22 "If the prophet predicts something in the Lord's name and it does not happen, the Lord did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared."

If you'd like specifics, let me know. They disprove Joseph Smith from their own writings.

No, the bible does not prophesy Joseph Smith. unless it's the Joseph Smith Translation of the bible - one in which he wrote in a prophesy.

Ezekiel 37 or 39: 15-19. The stick of Joseph is the Book of Mormon and the Stick of Judah is the Bible. okay, i just checked. it was 37! Ezekiel 37: 15-19. by the way, the Book of Mormon makes total sense. there were 12 tribes of Israel. Each one raised to believe in God. Wouldn't there be more than one testimony of God and Christ? I KNOW so. Go check out www.lds.org. oh and who else do you think Jesus was talking about when he said in John 10:16 (yes, a mormon is using the Bible. lol... just to let you know, we use them both. lol) "Other sheep i have, which are not of this fold"? he was talking about the other tribes. The Book of Mormon is an account of when Jesus went to visit those sheep in the Americas.

No, nothing in the Bible to foretell of the book of Mormon. Smith is self proclaimed, he is not a prophet of God of the Holy Bible. The only way he could be considered prophesied is that Jesus warned us to beware of those spreading false doctrine and of false prophets

i might part somewhat with tsjgigante.. look at it in context. in case you proceed examining Matt (KJV) the themed verses proceed. It would not look that the JST translation is meant to delete the unique. in assessment to the e book of Mormon version the comparable topic maintains although, right here verses are somewhat distinctive. I truthfully think of you're grasping for straws.

The Bible prophesied the Baptist church, that they would own slaves and they would teach evil doctrines and twist the Bible, but as for the Mormons I don't believe the Bible ever prophesied that.

Matthew 24:11 - "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." False prophet: A leader of people whose teachings help shape society and influence the thinking of the common man. I'd say Joseph Smith fits this description.

No.

The Bible prophesies about Jesus, not false prophets like Smith.
