If it is forbidden, how do you procreate and make the next generation of believers?

Sex is like everything God created. There are right and wrong ways to use.

Within a marriage, it is a blessing, builds intimacy between the two people, produces children, etc. In fact, in the Bible (see I Corinthians 7) married couples are told not to withhold sex from each other, but to have it often so that they do not fall in adultery because of desire.

However, outside the bounds of marriage it is forbidden. In the act of sex, a part of yourself becomes permanently bound to that person. It is then carried into marriage and causes problems between them. How many marriages have been destroyed because of jealousy, etc over previous relationships?

So sex is permitted and encouraged within marriage, but forbidden outside of it.

A harem is a 'stable' of women kept for most often for sexual desires of the owner of the harem. And it denotates ownership over the women.
